Target AudienceThis training is specifically designed for VA social work chiefs and executives, social work supervisors, and emerging social work leaders at the VA, VISN, or VACO level.

Outcome/ObjectivesAt the conclusion of this educational program, learners will be able to:

1. apply the High Performance Development Model (HPDM) to meet performance demands through continuous learning;

2. describe the student development process;3. describe the elements of an effective staff development program; and4. describe the elements of workforce and succession planning.

Instructions for Assigning and Completing the course in TMSRegistration: It is essential that you use the course link and follow the instructions below to register for National Social Work Leadership – Training Web Course in TMS.https://www.tms.va.gov/learning/user/deeplink_redirect.jsp?linkId=ITEM_DETAILS&componentID=9888&componentTypeID=VA&revisionDate=1313067480000

1. If you have not assigned the course to your learning plan:a. Log in to TMS.b. On the right side of the page, enter in catalog search: National Social Work

Leadership – VA Trainng Web Course and click on GO.c. Select “Add to Learning Plan” or “Start Course” .

(NOTE: If you select “Add to Learning Plan” option, this will add the training to your To-Do List, but it does not start the training. You will then need to select the course in your learning plan.)

2. Scroll down in your learning plan under No Due Date and mouse over the course name and in the pop up, select: “Start course”.

3. Upon completion of the course content, you will take the final exam. 4. Immediate feedback as to pass or fail will be given after completing the test. A passing score

of 80% or higher required to receive credits. The test can be retaken if the score is less than 80%.

5. Upon passing the test, select exit at the top of the window. The estimated time for completing this course is 1.0 hour.

6. You will return to the Online Content Structure screen and should select: “Return to Content structure”.

7. Click the “Launch Evaluation” *Be sure you have completed all the content objects listed before attempting to access the evaluation.

8. Complete the SEES Evaluation. Once submitted, close the window.9. Click “Return to Online Content Structure.”10. There should now be a date next to both links in the Online Content Structure window.

You have now completed your requirements for this course, and the item should be located in your Completed Work folder.

Instructions for Printing a Certificate of Completion1. Log in to TMS.2. On the Home page of the TMS, click on the Completed Work folder.3. Hover the mouse over the title of the program, and click “View Details” in the popup

window that appears. DO NOT click on the “Print Certificate” here – this will give you the generic TMS certificate.

4. In the Completed Work Details screen, you should see a section named “Accreditation Details.”

5. Click the “Print Accredited Certificate” button next to your requested Accreditation: ASWB.

6. Your Accredited certificate should appear on the screen for you to save or print.

Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. Social workers will receive 1.0 continuing education clock hour in participating in this course.

Statement of ParticipationA certificate of completion will be awarded to participants and accreditation records will be on file at the Employee Education System.
