COFFEEHOUSE July 27

from 7-9pm in the Church Hall

On July27th, from 7-9pm, the Knights of Columbus will host this month's social: It will be a Coffee House concept. Anyone who plays an instrument is welcome to come and present. Guitar, piano, harp! Please direct all ques ons to Sam Johnston ([email protected]) or Sco Walker (sco [email protected]). There is no need to pre-register, but you should be ready to play or present at 7 o'clock. If you plan on audience par cipa on, it would be most helpful (though not required), if you could please bring the words to your song so that we can show them on a projected screen. There no charge for this event. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

It’s BACKPACK me! Yes, it’s me to fill a “BACK TO SCHOOL” backpack for the children of our sister parish, St. Gregory’s. Target and Staples already have their school supplies out ON SALE and are ready for us! Please grab a backpack and fill it with the following items before placing it in the back of the Church by August 14th. *1 (2”) 3-ring binder *loose leaf paper *3 pocket folders *3 spiral notebooks *1 pencil sharpener *10 pencils *5 pens *1 pack crayons *1 pack magic markers *glue s cks These backpacks are always received with such excitement and apprecia on by the children and it’s such a great way to show them our support as they start off the new school year. This is also a great (and fairly inexpensive) ac vity to involve your own children in to teach them about pu ng God’s love into ac on. Loose school supplies will also gladly be accepted.

You can also make a monetary dona on by wri ng a checks to St. Alphonsus and wri ng 'for backpacks' on the nota on line or by giving cash in an envelope labeled 'for backpacks'.

FLOWERS FOR THE SANCTUARY For many of us, live plants and flowers tap our spiritual core and enrich our worship experience. The colors can be coordinated to celebrate the season of the liturgical year. For others, they beau fy the sanctuary. People donate flowers to celebrate weddings, births, and anniversaries, to honor friends and family, to memorialize those who have moved on--for any reason at all. With a beau fully renovated church, we want to establish a flower fund especially to keep coordina ng fresh flowers in front of the altar and by the bap smal font. You can designate your dona on to be used for a specific weekend and in memory of a specific person or event. Please consider dona ng! Contact Dee at [email protected]

Save the date! Please save the date for Jesuit Friends and Alumni Sunday, an opportunity for alumni and friends of Jesuit schools to celebrate our common bond through the celebra on of liturgy, followed by a recep on highligh ng opportuni es for con nuing spiritual growth and service to the local and global
