Mary Shelley is born. Three weeks later, her mother passes away due to complications from birth. August 30, 1797

Mary’s father gets remarried to a widow named Mary Jane Calirmont. September 12, 1801

Mary’s first poem is published 1807

Mary meets her future husband Percy. Four months later, they elope. February 1814

Mary competes with her friends to see who can write the scariest story; thus Frankenstein is created. May 1816

Mary and Percy Shelley get married December 3, 1816

Frankenstein is published. January 1, 1818

Mary gives birth to Percy Florence, the only one of her children to outlive her. November 12, 1819

Percy Shelley drowns while sailing with a friend. July 8, 1822

Mary Shelley passes due to a long illness February 1, 1851
