SCHOOL STUDENT NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY
The school, mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students regardless of race, color, na onal origin, and/or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and ac vi es generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, disability, medical condi on, sex, or na onal and/or ethnic origin in the administra on of educa onal policies and prac c-es, scholarship programs, and athle c and other school-administered programs, although certain athle c leagues and other programs may limit par cipa on and some archdiocesan schools operate as single-sex schools.
While the school does not discriminate against students with special needs, a full range of services may not always be availa-ble to them. Decisions concerning the admission and con nued enrollment of a student in the school are based upon the stu-dent's emo onal, academic, and physical abili es and the re-sources available to the school in mee ng the student's needs.

THE REASON FOR OUR HOPE
“What is the reason for your hope?” Im-agine somebody coming up to you and asking you that question. Not “What are you hoping for?” or “What are you hoping to do?” No, this isn’t about our desires for possessions or aspirations for life, it’s “Why do you hope?” Peter today tells us that we ought to be ready to give an answer to this question. Truth be told, few of us spend much time thinking about why we hope. Luckily, the scriptures today give us our answers. We hope because Christ suffered for us, in or-der that we might come to God. We hope be-cause we know that, in the Spirit, God grants us another Advocate through Christ to re-main with us always. No matter what we might hope for, whatever we might hope to do, we must always first know and proclaim the reason for our hope: the presence of God in Christ, with us through the power of the Spirit.

Dear Mary Immaculate Parish Community,
Due to the Coronavirus COVID-19, our annual Spring Fiesta has been canceled. As many of you know, the Spring Fiesta is our big-gest fundraiser event. It helps us cover our monthly expenses, in-cluding the maintenance of the school building, and financial grants offered to current and new families. Unfortunately, the cancellation of the annual fiesta has impacted our school financially and we need your support.
On behalf of Mary Immaculate School, I would like to ask you for the donation of any raffle tickets you may have purchased. You can drop off your raffle ticket stubs along with the monetary donation at the school office. We are open Monday-Friday from 8am-12pm.
If the donation of your raffle tickets is not possible, we will reim-burse you the money. Please call the school office for an appoint-ment. You will be asked to bring your ticket stubs at that time in order to receive a refund.
This pandemic has affected us all in many unprecedented ways, but we are one body in Christ and we will get through this together. Thank you for your continued support to our school and parish. May God bless you abundantly!
Many blessings,
Veronica Macias Principal

Muchas bendiciones,
Veronica Macias Principal Escuela María Inmaculada 818-834-8551

Protect young people from cyberbullying
Cyberbullying can happen at any time, on any online platform. It can take many forms – cruel
direct messages, threatening emails, mean texts, shared photos, and more. Victims of cyber-bullying often suffer from anxiety and depression, and their self-esteem can be di-
minished. They may be reluctant to talk about bullying, so parents need to be on top of all
their children’s online activities. Asking ques-tions and getting information about popular apps and sites will help, too. For more infor-mation, get a copy of the VIRTUS® article
