Early Life

Even though her parents didn’t want her to become a professional artist, she started studying painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. But later on she decided to study on her own, so she moved to Paris the next December where she studied with Jean-Leon Gerome (a good art teacher)
