The MSA team are busy putting together the amazing hamper raffle prizes for the draw at the Fair next Friday. Class 4 are planning their enterprise games and Mrs Rowe is taking bookings – via the school office – for the Senior Citizens’ Christmas lunch on Wednesday 4 th December. Today a team of Marwood Church volunteers talked to the children about the story behind the ‘Christingle’ while they made the orange based decoration. You and your family are invited tothe Marwood Church Christingle Service on Sunday 1 st December 4:00pm at Marwood Parish Church. It is a great start to advent and the build up to Christmas. All the children are rehearsing for our nativity on Tuesday 10 th December 1:30 in the school / community hall. This is the first time we have done a whole school production and I am aware that our audience of parents and family members will make a very full house. We would like parents to attend on Tuesday 10 th . If you think you need more space for wider family members we can accommodate them at the dress rehearsal on Monday 9 th at 1:30 pm. It is not all about Christmas at school and we have great learning going on in classes with new displays of children’s work up. There is one more sporting event on Monday 2 nd when 40 children from Classes 3 and 4 are representing the school at an Ilfracombe swimming competition. I wish them the very best. Reading – Thank you to all who have taken the time to work with your children on reading. Children from foundation to year 6 have a reading record and we have seen an increase in the parent comments. The last newsletter of the term is always a Christmas Card designed by a pupil from each year group! Your design needs to be on a piece of A4 paper, which will be copied onto card. Please do not stick lumps of cotton wool or anything similar - it doesn’t copy well! The winning cards will be judged by an independent judge on Monday 16 th December, which is the day of the Pantomime, so we will use the characters to judge the cards. Lovely prizes for the winning entries.
