Background Martin Luther King Jr. was born January 15, 1929 in
Atlanta, Georgia, and died on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.
He was an American clergyman, activist, and a leader in the
African-American Civil Rights Movement.

Me giving the Martin Luther King Jr. Speech I have a dream that
one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and
the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit together at the
table of brotherhood.

give people hope that one day colored and whites would joins hands
and for there to not be conflict. I have a dream that my four
children will one day live in a nation where they will not be
judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their
character.

Have A Dream was meant for colored and white people to get them to
join together and not fight over the color of the skin.

join colored and white people together, and not have conflict

way that white people acted towards colored people. He showed that
colored people are no different.

treated equal.

the rough times.

instead of being treated differently because of the color of there
skin.

whites together as one. There was no more conflict between them.
Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated by a sniper as he stood on
the balcony of his hotel room in Memphis and died on April 4 th,
1968. 39 other men, women, and children were killed during this
time, 34 of them were black.
