Key Findings • Students, Parent/Guardians, Faculty (licensed teacher),

staff members, and community members are NOT in favor of the Marshall Public Schools starting before Labor Day

• Fifty-two percent of respondents feel that each school district should set their own academic calendars

• Forty-three percent of respondents feel that the five development days for teachers will NOT improve test scores for the school districts involved

Key Findings • Results regarding breaks and vacation perceptions were

highly positive, except for respondents being ready to go back to school before Labor Day

• Students agree that the flexible learning year positively impacts extracurricular activities

• Licensed Teachers disagree that the flexible learning year positively impacts students’ extracurricular activities

Key Findings• 64% stated they don’t like the concept of

having homework or projects over breaks

• 55% stated the flexible learning year created a less stressful Winter Break

• 31% of respondents felt that students and teachers are ready to go back to school before Labor Day
