Warrington, lie, 12 Sep., 1745." John Shrigley, B.A., was the son of William Shrigley, gent., of Manchester, and matriculated at Brazenose College, Oxford, 17 Dec, 1730, aged 20. He was presented by Sir Edward Stanley, Bart., on the death of Thomas Croft, in 1753, to the living of Alderley, which he resigned a few years later to become Curate, which he had previously held. He died in June. 1776, and was buried at Alderley. His wife Charlotte was buried there 3 March, 177S. L. & C. Brazenose Register.":
