L2P is free for eligible young people and is funded by the Victorian Government Transport Accident Commission and local community businesses, organisaons and sporng clubs who sponsor the program. L2P Mentors Apollo Bay program L2P is currently seeking volunteers to supervise learner drivers. Here is your opportunity to contribute to a safer community by men- toring local young people who really need your support. All new volunteers complete VicRoads developed training to learn how to supervise learner driv- ers in the L2P program. A mentor training program will be conducted on the 5 th of August at Marrar Woorn. What’s happening at Marrar Woorn

NEW PROGRAM APOLLO BAY – ASSISTING YOUNG PEOPLE TO GAIN THEIR LICENCE

The L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program is an exciting free program available to 16 - 20 year olds ,living in the Apollo Bay who are facing significant barriers in gaining the 120 hours of driving experience needed to take the probationary licence test.

The L2P assists learners under 21 years of age, who do not have access to a supervising driver or vehicle, to gain the driving experience required to apply for a probationary licence.

This is a half-day, collaborative open ses-

Thursday Art Class

This group will continue to develop skills

in a variety of painting and drawing tech-

niques, with a focus on watercolours as

well as other mediums. Suitable for be-

ginners and those with some experience.

This term will include portraiture.

Oki Do Yoga Stretch into the new term with Oki Do Yoga. Playful, not too earnest style of yoga; beginners welcome. Dates: Monday 17th July - 11th Sep-tember. Time: 6pm - 7.15pm Course Fee: $90 Location: Community Hall

Prepare For On Air This new course is designed to teach you

the skills to run your own radio show.

During the program you will learn: voice

presentation, reading advertisements,

preparing and interviewing, uploading

information for podcasts.

Chainsaw

A fully accredited course which involves; the cutting and trimming of felled trees

with a chainsaw. Giving you the skills for performing proper equipment mainte-

nance for longevity of the chainsaw throughout its lifetime use.

Upon completion of the course you will be able to;

-Operate a chainsaw safely while performing proper risk assessment of the area.

-Maintain and prepare the chainsaw equipment through its lifetime use.

-Maintain optimal worksite planning with assessment of cutting requirements

and timber.

-Perform post operational maintenance.

-Understand and execute cross cutting techniques.

-Solve problems when faced with unusual tree cutting applications.

Date : 26th and 27th July or 9th and 10th August

Time : 9am - 4.00pm

Cost : $400

For this course to run, a minimum of 8 people is required.
