Our mayor, Cr Noel D'Souza kindly gave us a grant of $300 to use at the nursery and we spent over an hour listening to Natalie the hor- culturalist about the different plants on offer. Next Monday, weather perming, our planng will begin. If anyone has a spare spade they no longer need, we would greatly ap- preciate it. A big thank you to Ms Pierce, Ms Cigne and Ms Ho for helping to transport the children to the nursery and of course to the children for their enthusiasm and passion to beaufy our school. Special Visitors On Tuesday we were privileged to have Ms Shannon Johnstone visit us from Canada. Ms Johnstone is the principal of a K-8 school comprising of 75 students. She was so impressed with all the wonderful programs that are happening here at MJPS as well as the warm and friendly school community members. On Friday we will have 5 new vising teachers from Tokyo, Japan. They will be vising each Friday for the next 4 weeks, so please say hello if you see them in the playground. 2018 Enrolments Do you have a child who turns five years of age before 31 July 2018 and will be ready to start school? We encourage all families with children starng school next year to contact the office as soon as possible to complete the enrolment paperwork. Please also spread the word to other local families interested in enrolling at our school that now is the me to work through this process. Have a lovely weekend Helen Te Rata

Our current focus is the Learning Power CREATE. Learning awards will be given to students who can create through generating new ideas. This is a skill which is essential for Futures Learning.
