• Reduction of its total amount is EU’s strategy. (EU Directive 94/62/EC)

• Exemption of (HOME) Compostable and bio-based Fruits and Vegetable bags can save local plastic industry. (Fr, It, Be, etc)

• The (Home) Compostable bag can promote organic waste separation.


Kaneka announced that within the coming 3 years they will support the development ofPHBH based marine biodegradable applications to reduce the environmental impactof plastic leakage in the ocean. Kaneka will further work-out the industrial scaleproduction of the biodegradable polymer PHBH, which is a natural polymer produced bythe metabolism of micro-organisms. It will also further study the biodegradation and eco-toxicity of PHBH related applications which will be used not only in the marine field butalso in other industrial and consumer product.
