山下他(2012)では,戦略不在の日本企業といわれる中でも,食品・飲料を中心とする企業群では,STPを実行している企業の事業成果がより高いことが実証されている。 しかし,革新的なイノベーションは,STPの精緻化だけでは実現できない(Kim and Mauborgne 2005, 訳書新版155頁)。コトラーもSTPを補完する水平思考(Lateral Thinking)やイノベーション・プロセスのA-Fモデル 3)を提案している(青木・恩蔵2004; Kotler and Trias de Bes 2003, 2010)。 以上の認識に基づき,本稿では Jaworski, Kohli and Sahay (2000)の市場ドライブ型市場志向の概念に依拠し,ブルー・オーシャン戦略の非顧客戦略の枠組みを用いて,マーケティングとイノベーションを架橋することを試みる4)。
Ⅱ. 市場ドライブ型の市場志向
(1 )市場志向の2類型:市場ドリブン型と市場ドライブ型
Jaworski et al. (2000) は,環境を所与ではな
く管理対象とみる先行研究に依拠し 5),市場志向の2類型を提示した(図−1)。既存市場の構造や行動を所与とする市場ドリブン型(market-driven),構造と行動の少なくとも一方を新たに創出する市場ドライブ型(driving markets)の2つである 6)。 Kohli and Jaworski (1990)は「現在と将来の顧客のニーズ」と明確に定義していたが,10年を経て,市場志向が既存顧客を重視する市場ドリブン型に偏ってきた。そのため彼らは,企業が市場に導かれるのではなく,企業が市場を導く側面を改めて強調したのである。 同じく 1990 年に市場志向概念を提起したNarverと Slater も,2000年代には反応型・先行型の市場志向という概念を提示した(Narver, Slater and Maclachlan 2004)7)。ただし,彼らは顧客ニーズを扱うに留まっている。よって本稿では,市場の構造と行動の変化という2次元で定義されるJawoski et al. (2000)の市場ドライブ型市場志向の概念を用いる。

(2 )市場ドライブ型市場志向の困難性 1990年代以降,市場志向に関する研究蓄積は進んだが,同時にそれは市場志向と顧客主導を混同する誤解も生んだ 8)。既存顧客の声に耳を傾け過ぎると破壊的イノベーションに立ち遅れるというクリステンセン他の議論がその例である(Christensen and Bower 1996; Christensen 1997)。これに対し,マーケティング学者は,市場志向と顧客主導とは違うと反発した (Daneels 2004; Day 1999; 川上2005; Slater and Narver 1998)9)。 顧客への受け身型の反応ではなく,顧客の創造こそが重要であるという議論は,古くはドラッカーに遡る (Drucker 1954, 39-40頁)10)。その後も,将来の顧客を重視することが企業の持続的発展に寄与するという主張は常に存在する
(Chandy and Tellis, 1998; Slater and Narver 1998)。 しかし現実には,既存顧客のニーズに応えつつ,新市場の顧客への備えを同時に行うことは難しく,既存顧客側へのバイアスが働きやすい。とりわけ,組織の慣性(inertia)が働き,新技術が提供する便益を顧客が理解しづらい場合,企業は既存事業に資源配分する近視眼に陥り(Mohr 2001),市場志向の実現は困難となる 11)。 この困難性を克服するには,STPの基本戦略を超える,イノベーション・マーケティングの戦略論が必要である。そこで本稿では,ブルー・オーシャン戦略論,マーケティング論,イノベーション論を融合したイノベーション・プロセス・モデルを提示する。
Ⅲ. 市場ドライブ型市場志向の イノベーション・プロセス・モデル
(1) 概念モデルの提示 イノベーション・プロセスの概念モデルとしては,ステージゲート法のように,開発段階で表すリニア・モデルが一般的である(Cooper 2011; Urban and Hauser 1993他)。一方,コトラーは,このようなモデルについて,製造ラインのようだと痛烈に批判している(Kotler and Trias de Bes 2010, 訳書32頁)。 イノベーション・プロセスを直線的なリニア・モデルととらえるのではなく,現場のミクロな相互作用という視点から概念化するノン・リニア・モデルは,日本では1990年代前半から存在する(石井1993)12)。冒頭で述べた通り,それはイノベーションやマーケティングが現場主導型で行われる日本企業の現実から導かれた理論である。欧米においても,1990年代後半以降,即興性(Moorman and Miner 1998),エフェクチュエーション (Effectuation)といった概念が提唱され,市場不確実性が高い状況下でのノン・リニア・モデルが注目されている(Coviello and Joseph 2012; Read et al. 2009; Saravathy 2001)。 とはいえ,ステージゲート法を始め,その有効性が実証研究によって厳格に裏付けられたリニア・モデルの理論体系にも意味がある。そこで本稿では,組織のメンバーが参照するリソースとして図−2の計画(モデル)が存在し,実際のプロセスはメンバー間の相互作用で進行するととらえる状況論アプローチを取る 13)。マーケティング部門と研究開発部門(R&D)との
and Grover 2006; Reid and de Brentani 2004)。 筆者が調べた限り,STPとアイデア創出との関係は,先行研究では明示されていない。ポジショニングの段階で競合と差別化するアイデアが出される場合もあれば,アイデア創出が先で,セグメンテーションの軸が後から考案される場合もある。 アイデア創出と事業戦略の関係も同様である。事業戦略には,環境を所与とするポジショニング戦略 16),自社の資源や能力を所与とする

(3 ) カロリーコントロールアイスの事例 ① カロリーコントロールアイスの概要 カロリーコントロールアイス(以下,カロコン)は,江崎グリコ株式会社(以下,江崎グリコ)が2003年6月に発売した,カロリーを半分以下に抑えたアイスクリームである。発売後,順調に売り上げを伸ばしている(図−4)。 カロコンは,砂糖や水あめを使用せず,乳製品の代わりに豆腐を使い,食物繊維を配合している。1個80kcal25)の低カロリーに抑えつつ,コクやなめらかさも同時に実現した点が特徴である。 ② カロリーコントロールアイスの開発経緯 カロコンのアイデアを発案したのは,元東京医科大学八王子医療センター勤務のF氏である。F氏は,管理栄養士として糖尿病患者に接するうちに,気を付けていても血糖値が上がってしまう患者を助けたいという思いが強まって

③ カロリーコントロールアイスの非顧客戦略 カロコンがターゲットとした非顧客は,アイスクリームが食べたくても食べられなかった糖尿病患者であり,あえて購買を控える第2グループに当たる。その後,低カロリーという属性により,ダイエットを意識する人々にも受け入れられ,病院の売店だけでなく,一般の販売チャネルへと拡張されていった。アイスクリーム市場の境界にいた第1グループの非顧客への展開であった。
(Olson and Bakke 2001)。一方で,技術志向の強い中小企業では,リード・ユーザーの関与が成功につながると言われている(Coviello and Joseph 2012)。
