Marker Design
The PAD System Marker Design produc t creates pattern piece markers in an
efficient manner.Thisapplication requires pattern pieces created in the PAD
System Pattern Enterprise.
As well asoffering all the advantages in thisapplication c reates automatic
markers, either from the PAD System engine, or from the Nester engine or
from Shape Shifter engine. You can also prepare markers that you foresee
sending to the cutting table, rec reate fabricswith Plaid or Striped styles, and
create alignment pointson the pattern pieces to guarantee a perfec t fitting.
Marker Design offers all the basic featuresplusspecialized tool for optimizing
marker to generate cut files, simulation of stripe and plaid fabric with matching
point to specify alignment ofpieces, automatic placement ofpieces either
from the application or in combination with the Nesterengine or Shape Shifter
engine. It isPad's most advance marker software.

The Basics
The Working Area
The Working Area iswhere you can view and modify your pieces, fabrics,
marker and measurements.
To open the Working area, create a new document or open one. See the
section dedicated to the Filemenu for more information about this procedure.
The Working area displays the Chart, the Info Bar, the Stand ByArea and the
Fabric Simulation Area. Rulersare displayed on the left side (Y ruler) and at thebottom (X ruler) of the Fabric Simulation Area . From these rulers, guidelines
(horizontal and vertical) can be pulled out to help treatments. Inside the surface,
a dotted line indicatesthe fabric limits.

The Chart is the section at the top of the working area.
Pattern pieces are sorted from the largest to the smallest (horizontally) and the
pattern size/breakdown (vertically) sorted by style file.
On the upper left, a fabric drop-down menu allows you to select the current
fabric. Pieces appear according to the fabric that hasbeen assigned to them
in Pattern:

Alltools can be used in the Stand ByArea except forthe Fill aHoletool. All
pieces left in the Stand By Area are not plotted orcalculated by the estimate.
