During crises, such as disaster, the luxury of an overabundance of time, resources, or

personnel generally does not exist. Additionally, communication within and

It is under such circumstances when a rapidly implemented behavioral health

assessment and triage tool could be helpful to crisis responders and systems in making

and communicating informed decisions about how to best utilize time and available

resources.

Why = What?

Page 5: Mark R. Marquez, LCSW, MSW, EdD Fayetteville State University eSocialWorker LLC.

It is the product of 25+ years of professional clinical experience combined with the

synthesis of functional tools and scholarly concepts.

How?

Page 6: Mark R. Marquez, LCSW, MSW, EdD Fayetteville State University eSocialWorker LLC.

While the model has proven effective for the author it has yet to be field tested and

thusly requires further study through use to determine if it is a reliable tool.

Color does influence an individual’s response (Fortmann-Roe 2011) including level of attentiveness (Camgoz et al. 2004).

Shah et al. (2003) indicates, that in stressful situations complicated by significant time constraints, the use of color-coding to be beneficial
