Large scale, How to approach working with urban and rural landscapes
1
Everything in this world is constantly evolving. Towns are growing, populations are increasing. So, architects have to react quickly to these changes. Density and green areas are the new tools of urban landascapes. These projects aim to connect people and spaces.
The new playground for architects is not within the city, it is within, the suburbian / rural aeras. For instance, the sheepfold (a pen or shelter for sheep) aims to combine environmental respect and technology. Inspired by the vernacular architecture, the project tries to create the best dialogue with the landscape.

First Year
Before one understands a place, you have to understand the context of the territory to which it belongs.
For exemple, Saint Etienne has been deeply influenced by its industrial past. The introduction of the train to the city in 1859 changed the landscape. The construction of the viaduct opens up the development north of town. Today, the train is an important element in the landscape and allows a new kind of architecture.

How does sun light build the urban space, and does the city compose its own light?Arles is situated in the South of France. The annual amount of sunshine is 2801 hours. Naturally, this will an impact on urban decisions.

hOW DOES A BUILDING CHANGE its surroundings AND fulfill TO its function?SPACE and uses USers and sites

Working on a project for kids forces the architecture to be clear. They can read the spaces through size and color.
Building a city is creating a specific space which will generate attraction. The building must be in correlation with the site and what is happening around it. These projects aim to connect people to people, spaces to spaces and people to spaces.
EDUCATIONSPORTMIXED USE BLDG
The building aims to give a new urban landscape to downtown Lafayette.Through different programs (offices, galleries, studios, Taco Sisters restaurant and residential), the building tries to reconnect people and spaces. The building aims to create a continuity among Vermilion street and to mark the extension of downtown 2020.

The Square.
How DO YOU Design a project with an elementary shape?
3
The two first projects push the density of the cubes to their extremes. The Massive VS The Light
More than a symbolic shape, the square is also the base of many forms. It allows transformations and architects to maintain a certain language - just as Bernard Tschumi at La Vilette in Paris.
What makes a project complex is not it`s apperance, but how one gives each space character.

EXHIBITION PAVILION
This cube of 19x19 feet is looking for the balance between solids and empty spaces. The different degrees of thickness of the walls permit the light to enter the volume of the building. In accordance to the small size, the cube allows only minimal spaces.

The project keeps the same dimensions as the last, but the goal is different. Here, the architecture heightens the degree of porosity - thanks to a very light structure made of corten steel and wood. The system also permits the cube to gain height. The project, almost disappears in the nature .

The intercation of lights and shadows designs the path for the visitor, cutting up the spaces between darkness and brightness. In this way, one feels « moments ». Therefore, one’s body knows when to stop or continue walking. The darker spot is the video room in the center of the building.

In architecture, there is no statements, there are only suggestions. Matisse has a big influence on my work. He succeeds to create depth with flat surfaces. Thanks to my art, i am able to pursue another side of space. The process and rendering are questions , as an architect one must confront on an every day basis.
