OnBoard News from The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority/Tri-Rail SFRTA CELEBRATES A MILESTONE IN CONSTRUCTION OF POMPANO BEACH CAMPUS Members of the SFRTA Governing Board, SFRTA staff members and the construction team from Gulf Building LLC, joined together recently to celebrate the official topping off ceremony of the construction of the SFRTA’s new LEED- certified Operations Center in Pompano Beach. When completed, the SFRTA Pompano Beach campus will encompass the Operations Center, the Agency’s first LEED- certified Tri-Rail station and a 500-car parking garage. In his remarks, Commissioner Bruno Barreiro, SFRTA Governing Board Chair, said, “After many years of operating in a temporary headquarters, we are looking forward to moving into a permanent facility where we can consolidate our entire operation under one roof. This will allow for an enhanced level of communication and efficiency that can only be of benefit to our passengers.” Positioned as the prototype for the SFRTA’s station- of-the-future, the reconstructed station will include solar panels that will provide 100% of the power needed to operate the facility. efficient elevators to access the pedestrian bridge. The station will also provide new secure bicycle lockers, dedicated alternative fuel-source parking, carpool/vanpool parking, LED lighting fixtures, and a shaded, reconfigured parking lot.
The entire Tri-Rail Pompano Beach Station Improvements Project—including the design/ build of the new Operations Center and parking garage—is estimated to cost a total of $40 million, and is projected to be completed and fully-operational by the summer of 2016.

Considerada como el prototipo para la estación del futuro de SFRTA, la estación reconstruida incluirá paneles solares que suministrarán 100% de la energía que se necesita para operar la instalación. Entre otras adiciones a la estación estará la vegetación nativa que requiere de riego con menos frecuencia y un paso elevado que permitirá a los pasajeros cruzar de una plataforma a otra sin tener que cruzar a nivel de suelo, así como elevadores de uso eficiente de energía para acceder al puente de peatones. La estación
también proveerá casilleros para bicicletas nuevos y seguros, un estacionamiento dedicado para fuentes de energía alternativas, estacionamiento para carpool/vanpool, dispositivos de iluminación LED y un estacionamiento reconfigurado y asombrado.
Se estima que todo el proyecto de mejoras de la estación de Tri-Rail Pompano Beach —incluyendo la construcción del nuevo Centro de Operaciones y la cochera de
