Mini Modeling Exhibition by First Year Department On Saturday , 25th February 2012, G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering witnessed the sheer talent and technical bent of the budding engineers of Second Semester B.E. A Mini Modeling exhibition was organised by the elite institute to exhibit the scientific side of the future professionals and give them a launchpad to innovate and challenge their intellect. Mini modeling is also a credit subject for Second Semester B.E. under the autonomous scheme of G.H.R.C.E. Around 203 groups formed from 819 students displayed their models in the exhibition. These budding engineers came up with innovative mini models on various topics . There were many projects on Rain water harvesting implementing simple but altogether different practicable ideas. Also, almost 100

projects were electronics based which related to varied sensors and solar cells. All these were commercially viable working projects. Students also showcased their talent by making different application robots. One of them which was outstanding was a Robo car which gives an innovative idea for future cars. It is equipped with artificial intelligence software and provides assistance to the driver to maneuver the vehicle all by itself. Moreover, considering the immense importance of non-conventional energy sources, students came up with novel prototypes of Hydro, Wind and Solar power plants. One very interesting model was of an energy conservation plant which converts geothermal energy to electrical energy using crystallization reactor carfier technology. It is currently being used in many countries like USA, Indonesia etc. Another project was based on recycle of plastic to generate burning gas which can be further condensed into oil and can be used for domestic purpose. Also, one of the group came up with an innovative project of charging mobiles using solar energy. Students also came up with models based on web designing and animation. Some of these models were need specific and some were social .Tricky games were also designed by some students. Another stupendous project was of a Soil moisture sensor which detects the moisture level if the soil and accordingly makes the water pump on and off. Dr. D.P.Kothari, Director General RGI, Ex-Director VIT, Ex-Director IIT Delhi , inaugurated the exhibition and congratulated the students and faculty members for their efforts. Director Dr. P. R.
