    MANAMA, Bahrain – Teenager

Ahmed Al Awadhi of Bahrain sur-

    vived a two-game title match,defeating Finland’s Osku

    Palermaa, 240-220 after losing a

234-230 decision in game one, to

win the 14th Kingdom of Bahrain

    Open at Funland Bowling Center.

    Al Awadhi, a 16-year-old mem-

     ber of Bahrain’s national bowling

team, was top qualifier for the

    Kingdom of Bahrain Open finals,

    topping Palermaa by seven pins

    and fellow Bahraini Yousef Falah

by 34 pins, thanks to seven-pins-

     per-game handicap awarded to

youth bowler and women in the

event. Al Awadhi won the $25,000

first prize, but didn’t get credit for a

    PBA International Tour title

     because he is an amateur.

As top qualifier for the three-

     player stepladder finals, Al

Awadhi’s opponent had to beat him

twice to win the event. After

Palermaa won the first game, Al

Awadhi won the decisive game by

20 pins, not needing his handicap

    allowance. Palermaa advanced to

    the championship match with a

    179-165 decision over Falah.

    The Kingdom of Bahrain Open

was the second PBA International-World Bowling Tour event of the

    2016 season. PBA International-

    WBT competitors now travel to

    Munich, Germany, for the

    Brunswick Euro Challenge at

    Dream Bowl Palace in Munich,

    Germany. Josh Blanchard of Mesa,

    Ariz., is defending champion.

    PBA Tour competition resumes

in the U.S. with the PBA Maine

    Event, March 31-April 6, at

    Bayside Bowl in Portland, Maine.

A weekend of PBA League EliasCup competition April 2-3 will

    result in four consecutive ESPN

telecasts on Sundays at 1 p.m. ET

    starting April 17. Blanchard will

then try to defend his Xtra Frame

    PBA Maine Shootout April 4-6.

The Maine Shootout will be cov-

    ered live, exclusively on PBA’s

    video-streaming service, Xtra

    Frame.

CHICAGO – Can the Bowlingball.com Silver Lake

Atom Splitters win a third consecutive PBA League

Elias Cup title? That’s a question to be decided as theeight-team PBA League bracket plays out later in the

spring, and if you can pick the team that wins the

2016 Elias Cup, you could win a replica High 5 Gear

championship team jersey along with a bowling pin

autographed by the winning team members.

The PBA League Elias Eight Bracket Contest is a

new “PBA Year of the Fan” promotion featuring the

four-year-old PBA team competition. One lucky fan

that correctly picks the winners of seven PBA League

matches will be declared the winner. In case of ties,

whoever comes closest in determining the total pin-

fall for both teams in the five-player Elias Cup final

match will be the first tiebreaker, and time of entry

will be the second if needed. The winner will be

    announced on Monday, May 9.

To enter the contest, fans ages 21 or older must fillout the official PBA League Elias Eight bracket and

post it on your Facebook or Twitter page using the

hashtag #PBAEliasCup and tag the PBA social chan-

    nels

ssociation) or @PBATour. All brackets must be post-

ed no later than 8 p.m. EDT (5 p.m. PDT) on

Thursday, March 31. See complete rules below. The

official bracket can be found on pba.com, or look for

a link on PBA’s Facebook or Twitter pages.

    ROCKAWAY, NJ - Brent Tishuk

     posted a 300 game to highlight a

772 series while competing in the

    Rockaway Trios at Rockaway

Lanes. However the real story at

the event was the 287, career high

    game that Dori Tingoli rolled.

It started January 23, three days

after a dear friend Al Jones passed

away and Dori walked into the Pro

Shop and on the floor was a tub

with 3 bowling balls in it. Dori

picked up one of the balls and

showed it to shop owner and pro

    Ken Yokobosky and said, “Hey.

Look this ball fits me perfect.”

Ken said, “Take it, it was Al’s

     ball.”

Dori took it and told Ken she

would practice with it and see

what it does. Ken said, “Use it

tonight in league and forget the

     practice. It’s Al’s ball.”

    Skipping the practice Dori took

it to league and the first 10 times

she sent it down the lanes the ball

was perfect with 10 strikes in a

row. The 11th time left a pocket 8-

10 split, and the rest was history.

Dori said, “It was very exciting

    and I never experienced nerves

like that in my life... Not ever.”

She went on to say, “someday,

however, in my dad’s memory and

    in Al’s, I am confident that 300

    will happen.”
