Keeping Your Loved Ones Safe
Over 90% of poisonings happen in homes. We are constantly distracted by cell phone messages and busy schedules. Below are poison prevention tips to help you manage your daily routine safely.
Prevention Tips:
• Keep all medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements; household cleaners; chemicals; self-care products; all nicotine products, especially e-cigarette parts and liquids; alcoholic beverages; and plants, seeds and bulbs out of sight and reach of children and pets.
• Store potentially poisonous products away from food and drink to avoid confusion.
• Always take medicines as directed.
• Talk to your teens about the dangers of using drugs and abusing medicines.
• Follow directions carefully when using cleaners or chemicals.
• Make sure there is a carbon monoxide detector installed outside of sleeping areas and on every level of your home.
• Never use a generator or charcoal grill inside your home or crawlspaces even if doors and windows are open.
• Never warm your car up in the garage even if the door is open.
