prayer, for beginners as well as those already practicing. Each
meeting includes time for contem-plative prayer, fellowship, and
reading/discussion of Julian's book. At the beginning of each
meeting, brief instruction on the practice of contemplative prayer

Diocese of Western Michigan are pleased to announce that
registration is now open for the Province V ECW Con-ference and
Annual Meeting to be held Friday through Sunday, April 28 – 30,
at
St. David’s Episcopal Church, Lansing, Michigan. The conference
will open for registration check-in beginning at 4:00 p.m. Friday
and close on Sunday following the morning Eucharist. We have a full
and exciting weekend planned. This year’s general business meeting

enrichment, our keynote speaker and leader for the week- end is
Lelanda Lee. Lelanda will be leading us in “Exploring the Meaning

in the Missouri Synod Luther-an Church, Lelanda found the Episcopal
Church in Amarillo, Texas, in the mid 1990s, when she at-tended the
Episcopal day school’s children’s chapel with her 9-year old
daughter. Lelanda continues her journey with the Episcopal Church
while also thinking about the concoction of humanity’s longings and
foibles – how desire, envy, and loss become the heartbeat of the
people. The conference registration fee is $90. This includes all

2017 Advocacy Day
People of Faith United for Justice
Tuesday, April 4 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
First United Methodist Church Near the Capital Square
203 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison
As people of faith we are called to join the public conversation
about the common good – about the kind
of a state and nation we can be justifiably proud of, the legacy
we want to leave our children and future
generations. Past generations of citizens, through government,
made the decisions and investments
that benefit us today. Now it is our turn.
People of Faith United for Justice is a day-long gathering to
learn, discuss, pray and advocate together
for social justice issues of importance to all the people of
Wisconsin. As a new legislature starts work on
the next state budget, our representatives need to hear our
values, priorities, and concerns, our expec-
tations and aspirations. Whether we expect them to agree with us
or not, they need to hear from us.
Together, we can ensure that our commitment to compassion and
justice is reflected in that budget.
Co-Sponsors: Wisconsin Council of Churches, Faith Voices For
Justice, Interfaith Conference of
Greater Milwaukee, Lutheran Office for Public Policy, Madison
Area Urban Ministry, Milwaukee Jewish
Federation, Jewish Federation of Madison and Wisconsin Jewish
Conference.
Getting to Madison for Advocacy Day
There is no parking available at First United Methodist Church.
Participants should plan to park nearby
at the State Street Capitol Garage located at N Carroll St and W
Johnson St, across the street from
Madison College. Information about Madison parking ramps can be
found here.
