Grade 8 Grad Photos March 4th, 2014 @ 9:25 am COBDEN DISTRICT PUBLIC SCHOOL MARCH 2015 Dear Parents, Staff & Students, I’d like to start by wishing one of Special Education Teacher Assistants, Ms. Burchat, well as she leaves us in preparation for her new child. Replacing her is Miss O’Nanski-Huot. We are pleased to have Miss O’Nanski-Huot join us for the remainder of this school year. Our annual Winter Away Day was once again a huge success. On January 29th, students from Grades 4 - 8 travelled to Calabogie Ski Hill for skiing, Pembroke and Petawawa for swimming and activities at Dundonald Hall, and Arnprior for a movie and bowling. It was a fantastic day. Students had fun on their respective trips, and all made it home safely despite the heavy snow that developed in the afternoon. I would like to thank all parents/guardians for supporting this day, Mr. Covell and Mme. Sara for their organizational role, all staff for supervising the activities and all students for once again representing Cobden District Public School so well. Speaking of good character, I’d like to thank the students as well for their behaviour while kept inside during the many, many indoor recesses that we have had this past month. As per policy, we keep students in when the temperature dips below minus 22… and there have been many of those days. Please continue ensuring that our students are dressed appropriately for the weather. I’d also like to thank our Parent Council for their hard work over the years raising money for the purchase of new playground equipment. I’m happy to report that a new play structure for our Kindergarten Yard has been ordered and should be installed in time for our spring outdoor play season. As a group, Parent Council has met three times already this year and will meet again in May, after our Fun Fair. That said, should you wish to be part of this fantastic group of dedicated volunteers prior to the May meeting, there will be committee meetings to assist in the planning of Fun Fair. Feel free to contact to the school to express an interest in participating. Peter Burnette, Principal N E W S L E T T E R Pay for Student Fees Online with….
