The story of HCG began in the Fifties when, after having done research on weight loss for 40 years and research on HCG specifically for twenty years, Dr. Simeons reported that patients taking small amounts of HCG, in conjunction with a very low calorie diet, could lose weight safely and quickly, without exercise, hunger, irritability, muscle injury or weakness.

But all HCG is not created equal. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of confusion created by products being sold without guidance that call themselves “HCG” but do not contain any in their ingredient list. HCG is one of 67 hormones naturally produced in the human body, so if a product states that it is hormone free; it is not HCG. Dr. Simeons’ diet protocol ought not to be followed without real HCG. The Pounds and Inches Away program starts with pharmaceutical HCG.

HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is not a growth or sex hormone; it does not feminize men or masculinize women. It is not an appetite suppressant, stimulant or vitamin supplement. Nor does HCG produce weight loss by itself. However, in concert with a very specific balanced diet, and our help in avoiding unexpected environmental or behavioral deviations, HCG will allow the body to naturally pull the nutrients and calories needed from stored fat reserves into the blood stream at the rate of 1500 to 4000 calories per day.

We are sure that those who follow our protocol WILL lose 20-30 pounds in 40 days. These fantastic results ARE typical with our full service packages. The Pounds and Inches Away program is not your run of the mill “eat less and exercise more” diet for a slow loss of 1 to 2 pounds a week that seems to take the rest of your life. Our protocol tricks Mother Nature a little, maybe, however only natural processes are

at work. Per Dr. Simeons, it is safe and so very effective.

At Pounds and Inches Away, we are also excited to be able to offer Whole Body Vibration technology by Advanced Healthworks to help people reach their goals. Ten minutes on our “Jiggy” machine produces benefits comparable to those gained in a one-hour workout without the sweat and effort of traditional exercise. More than 700 medical studies have been published about the health benefits of Whole Body Vibration. These benefits include improved circulation, increased muscle strength and flexibility, better core conditioning, improved range of motion, enhanced metabolism, increased bone density, and more. The Whole Body Vibration technology has also been used to improve problems with osteoporosis, diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, incontinence, arthritis, Parkinson’s’ disease and other conditions. We encourage the use of these machines for their wonderful skin tightening effects.

To get slim and stay that way, call our office at (317) 849-THIN today. We will help you reach your weight loss goals and improve your health, appearance and self-image. Nothing tastes as good as THIN feels…

It can be difficult to stay motivated if you work in a job where there is very little job satisfaction. No matter what type of job you have, you have the capability to make a difference at work--among your coworkers and with the public.

Like many people, you may feel a genuine lack of control within your work environment. Luckily, there are always ways to enjoy some aspect of your job when you focus on you and your capabilities.

There are five basic guidelines that will improve your relationships at work, with your coworkers, supervisors, and the customer. Do a self-assessment and decide which areas need some improvement.

• Role model being a positive influence: Greet your customers and coworkers with a smile. Check in with them frequently. Use an honest and sincere tone and ask them how they are doing. Work on connecting with each and every person you meet. If you do, you will be making a difference in every relationship that you encounter.

• Acknowledge and validate a person's perception of the problem: If you meet with an angry, unhappy customer or staff member, acknowledge their frustration. When you tell them that you recognize their issue, it will diffuse their anger and validate their experience. You can be the start of what I call “a repair attempt" for the company. A healthy employee always looks for opportunities to represent the company in a positive light.

• Bring gratitude with you, no matter where you go: It is easy to become stressed at work. Employers are expecting more for less. Economic rewards are harder to come by, and there are fewer perks in the workplace. Despite the daily grind of the work environment, there are always ways to focus on the positives at work. When you identify the positives it helps balance the negatives. It makes work more enjoyable and keeps you de-stressed.

• Take pride in all you do: The reality is that most everyone has had a job that they didn't like. It's your responsibility to shift your thinking from what you don't

like to include the positive aspects of the work you do. This attitude promotes a healthier appreciation of your work which affects your job performance as well as your mental health.

• Know that you are an important part of the team: Regardless of what you do, whether it's collecting trash, being the CEO of your company, working in the front office, or connecting people to the Purchasing Department, you have the capacity to be the bright star in someone else's dark day. Whether it is a co-worker or a customer; make it a point to tell others that you appreciate them. Send them a smile or a compliment--it can go a long way. You are always part of a team and your actions are an integral part of the system.

• Always maintain integrity at work: The best way to do this is to do your personal best AND go that extra mile. When you ask to help someone or check in about their concerns or you stay late to finish something or call that client to check on their satisfaction, you convey that you care. As Tom Peters said, "When you care, you win."

You truly can leave a lasting impression by allowing others to be the benefactor of your kind intentions. Don't underestimate your power to influence others and to make a positive impact. You really do make a difference when you do your personal best!

What is in nature? Does it speak to us? If so, it may be difficult to hear it because of all our beeps, bells and digital sounds. Time alone in nature can work wonders for the soul. (This would necessarily mean without iPhone or iPad.) Most artists of note extol the virtue of spending time alone in nature. Claude Monet, the famous 19th Century Impressionist, is known to say, “The richness I achieve comes from Nature, the source of my inspiration.” Monet’s works are featured at The Art Institute of Chicago. In the early 1980’s, I was fortunate enough to attend a special expanded exhibit of Monet’s works at The Art Institute. I remember this experience well. Monet’s art spoke to my heart, and I felt myself brought into the peacefulness

of the scenes in nature he painted.

My father also loved nature. He knew the names of almost all trees and birds. He would walk in our big backyard and

carefully tend to all the various flowers he had planted. (I am reminded that he lovingly cared for those flowers the same way he cared for our family.) He was content to sit and watch almost any scene in nature, and he would notice the tiniest detail of a sunset or a bird’s nest. (If a particular sunset was of note, we would call each other to say "sky alert" - this went on for years.) My dad had an unusual peacefulness to himself, and I often wondered if it was, in part, because he was so in tune with nature. He would not have even considered bringing a cell phone to interrupt the space.

Why not try it? Turn off the digital machines, and be still, knowing there is more out there than we can even imagine. by Marti Starkey

Business SPOTLIGHT

Safe dentistry. Healthy dentistry. Alternative Treatments. All in an inviting, welcoming environment that emphasizes education so you are empowered to make informed choices regarding your future dental and overall health. Is that what you desire in your dental experience?

Dr. Guba has advocated total wellness since she joined the dental profession in 1981. She is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management, has been an instructor for Aesthetic Advantage – a leader in cosmetic dentistry continuing education. She adheres to the protocols and recommendations of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and other prominent biologic and holistic dental organizations. She is a certified Invisalign® dentist.

Dr. So, a California native, joined Dr. Guba in 2012. She attributes her interest in holistic dentistry

to her Chinese background. “I have personally experienced what Eastern medicine has to offer. My frame of reference is that alternative treatments, biocompatible materials and some traditional techniques can significantly improve outcomes for our patients.”

“We focus on the process of health and wellness and not the treatment of disease,” says Dr. Guba. “We have

researched the specific materials we use to ensure that they do not adversely impact our patients. We use a variety of alternative treatments in our practice. We believe in treatment that is patient driven. We often meet with new patients, listening to them and understanding their dental concerns and health issues before we provide treatment options.”

Mercury vapor and chronic dental infections like periodontal disease have a negative impact on overall health. “We focus on removing mercury containing restorations in a safe and responsible way, including the use of a rubber dam, pure oxygen, copious amounts of water with suction, and filtration to prevent mercury from being discharged into our environment.”

“We treat a variety of issues, such as chronic facial pain and TMJ dysfunction, to sleep apnea and restoration of dental implants. Cosmetic solutions are available too, from single teeth to full mouth reconstruction.”

“Fixing teeth is great,” says Dr. So. “Improving overall health is better. Our goal is to provide patients with the knowledge necessary to keep them on the path to wellness.”

It’s often said that what most people want more of, is time and money. So this month let’s talk about how to get more time. One of my favorite songs, Seasons of Love, from the musical Rent has these lyrics:

"525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee. In

inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life?

525,600 minutes! 525,600 journeys to plan. 525,600 minutes - how can you measure the life of a woman or man? In truths that she learned, or in times that he cried. In bridges he burned, or the way that she died"....

So is it that we really need more time or that we just need to pay better attention to how we are spending those 525,600 minutes every year? Maybe we just need to make better choices with the time that we have? If you really want more time, the first thing I suggest is being real with how you are currently spending the time you have. Keep a log for an entire week or for a real eye opener, for an entire month. Each day, write down how you are spending every minute of your day.

You will probably find that out of the 168 hours in a week, on average, you may work 46 hours, sleep 56 hours, eat 14 hours

and fill your spirit 3 hours which leaves you 49 hours for kids, husband, family, friends, school, volunteering, household chores, errands, exercising, reading, meditating, journaling, and so on. Oh yeah, and don’t forget Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and television. So look at your log and decide what can you eliminate? Just say no and make a decision to spend that new found time on what’s important to you.

So what does this have to do with Women Changing Lives? We want to help you get the things you want more in life. We can help you take just 10 to 15 hours per week to enjoy an annual income in excess of $60,000, plus a new car payment, for the rest of your life! Now that would free up a lot of time to spend on what’s most important to you. Women Changing Lives partners with a billion dollar, debt free company with a one-of-a-kind business model. Contact me for the details. I have nothing to sell you, only the facts and truth to give you. Come see how Women Changing Lives can help you change your life.

Karen’s journey includes climbing the corporate ladder for over 15 years, over 120 hours of graduate studies, owning and operating franchise restaurants, and having her own successful business working from home for the last 13 years. She is an entrepreneur focused on having a positive impact on everyone she meets. Contact Karen Caprino-Burg at 317-828-3061 or [email protected].

Bio-energetic Assessments. Sound like science fiction? Let’s go back to the basics; everything in our world is composed of atoms, and those atoms have protons and electrons, a positive and negative electrical charge respectively. So if everything is made up of atoms, then we are too – think static electricity.

Utilizing a non-invasive computerized tool called the Avatar, we are able to eavesdrop into the communication system of the body. The science of the Avatar, or more generally a bio-energetic assessment, is based on an outgrowth of extensive research performed in Germany in the early 1950's by Dr. Reinhold Voll, a medical doctor and acupuncturist. His research led him to note

that a controlled current at specific meridian points could provide feedback from the organs and systems within the body. Voll theorized that energy readings higher than normal signify the potential of an inflammatory condition and lower readings relate to degenerative tissue damage.

Think of it like our fighter T-cells, when we have an infection and a host of fighter cells come to the rescue - buzzing around fixing up the area. This conglomeration changes how energy is distributed in the body. The converse is when the energy read is below the healthy base line – this is similar to the forgotten zone and hence relates to degenerative tissue.

Current research is confirming that chronic, unresolved inflammation does in fact lead to tissue and organ degeneration. A bio-energetic assessment provides information into a wide range of puzzling health-related problems, offering a complimentary approach to biochemistry-based medicine.

Beauty and Health/ Regenerative Medicine “Stem Cell Therapy”

For years, cosmetic surgeons have been using fat to augment the loss of volume in

the face and to correct defects elsewhere in the body. Recent developments in technique and harvesting have led to improved results. In fact, stem cell facelifts are now being performed. Interestingly, it has been discovered that the mononuclear fraction of adipose tissue referred to as the stromal vascular fraction (SVF) has a large number of mesenchymal "stem cells”.

SVF is obtained through removal of a small amount of fat using closed syringe liposuction. Using specialized equipment, SVF is removed from the fat and then re-administered to the patient through a specific joint or IV. It is the patient’s own tissue so there is no concern about allergenic response.

Although the use of SVF can lead to a pleasing aesthetic result, there also have been many medical applications that have been discovered as well. Several professional athletes have traveled overseas for treatment of inflamed and injured joints. The use of SVF has been shown to speed up the healing process. Joint

and other orthopedic conditions have shown significant improvement with use of SVF. Other degenerative and autoimmune conditions have also responded favorably to SVF therapy. These include rotator cuff injuries, ACL injuries, arthritis of hip, shoulder and knee injuries, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, myasthenia gravis, asthma, optic neuritis, and many others.

Ron, a former defensive end for the University of Texas stated, “My knees were so degenerated and painful I was unable to go up and down stairs. After I was treated at ISCTC two months ago, I am pain free and stairs are not a problem.”

The Indiana Stem Cell Treatment Center, an affiliate of the California Stem Cell Treatment Center, along with their patient funded investigational review board, and its multiple affiliates across the country, have been treating patients with significant success.

We want it all...Business, Health, Happiness, Friends, Family and a Financially Secure Future. Achieving “balance” has become a goal of almost mythical proportions. Can we ever really be in “balance”? The answer is YES!

What does it mean to live a balanced life? If you do create balance in all areas of life will you truly live a healthier, happier, more prosperous and meaningful life? I believe most of us are pursuing a life that is whole and complete; a sense of harmony and peace. This is essential to maintaining a specific quality of life and in our work. Our lives are made up of many vital areas including our health, family, work, finances, spirituality, social, recreation, personal growth, intellect, romance and more. You may not spend time daily in all these areas, but when sufficient attention is spent over time you feel in balance. However, neglect one area - not to mention 2 or 3 - you sabotage your own success.

This may be a time in your life when you feel over-worked, over-scheduled and over-whelmed. You feel as if you are doing more than ever - yet you are also dissatisfied with the results you get out of life. In this world of instant communications 24/7, we have to wonder if technology has really made our lives any simpler!

I recommend that you resolve, right here, right now to make your life better, more rewarding, and more balanced. With the following tips, you can achieve stunning results in less time with less effort and less stress and have more time for personal hobbies and family.

What are you attempting to balance? The secret of the super achievers is that they have very

specific, clearly defined goals for every area of their life. They have the ability to focus and to say NO to any activity that will not take them closer to those goals!

Determine where you are now.Define what a balanced life means to you - today. Life is constantly changing.

When you are busy and all of your energy is focused on a special project, it’s all too easy to find yourself “off balance’, and not paying attention to important areas of your life. This is the time to take a “helicopter view” of your life. Take the time to consider each area of your life and identify the areas that need more attention. Cut out unnecessary tasks and protect your priorities.

What are your vital signs?Determine what sustains life in your life. Stay focused on the vital few functions and vital few priorities that allow you to achieve excellence in the areas most important to you. Choose wisely how you obligate your time, energy and focus.

Be creative not reactive!A balanced life isn’t something that just happens, it’s something you create. Plan your daily activities to launch you toward achieving your goals.
