2013-2014 Room Selection Process Has Ended Congratulations to those of you who participated in the Room Selection process for Fall 2013 campus housing! If you have not already selected a room, our housing application process has closed and we have begun a waitlist for fall housing. Unfortunately, this means that on-campus housing will likely not be available for you for the Fall 2013 semester. If you are interested in being on the waitlist for fall housing, please visit http://www.american.edu/ocl/roomselection and click ‘Apply Now’.
Student Staff Applications Now Live! Are you interested in learning more about Housing & Dining Programs? Do you enjoy working in a flexible and fun environment? Applications for Fall 2013 Desk Receptionists are live and will be due at 5pm on March 22. We are also in the process of hiring members of the Summer Residence Maintenance Crew. Apply by March 8 at 5pm to be considered. Contact [email protected] with any questions.
Extended Hours in the One Card Office
The One Card Office is now open for extended hours. We are open during the following times
weekly for all of your ID card needs:
Monday – Thursday: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm Friday: 11:30 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday: 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Please direct any questions to the One Card Program Coordinator at [email protected].
Considering Moving Off-Campus? Each year, some students venture out into the city for off-campus housing which can be an intimidating and uneasy process for many. We have developed multiple web based off-campus housing resources, which include the Off-Campus Housing Guide and the Moving and Living Off-Campus Webinars to accommodate those with busy schedules. All of these resources can be found at www.american.edu/offcampushousing. If you would like to set up an appointment for an individual consultation please email the Off-Campus & Guest Housing Coordinator at [email protected].
Sign Up Early for AU Storage and Save! The UPS Store offers big savings when you reserve your summer AU Storage early. With on-campus pickup and delivery, AU Storage has offered excellent service to AU students since 1987. There is no risk in signing up early because they offer a 100% refund if you ever change your mind about using the service. Basic Storage is the choice for students with a traditional summer break but they also offer short term and long term arrangements. The earlier you sign up, the bigger the savings. So reserve your space today at http://www.austorage.com/index.html. The Risks Associated with Marijuana Research from the National Institute of Drug Abuse indicates that individuals who smoke marijuana, tobacco or both, are exposing their lungs to respiratory problems, such as daily cough and phlegm production, more frequent chest illness, and a heightened risk of lung infections. Not only is smoking marijuana dangerous, but it is a student conduct policy violation that could result in your removal from the residence halls.
Changes to AU’S Package Notification System In collaboration with AU’s Mail Service’s office, Housing & Dining Programs will be transitioning to a new package system in the coming weeks. While there will be no interruption in service, there will be a change in the notification emails to residents. Package notifications will now come from [email protected], rather than [email protected]. This email account is managed by American University and is not a spam message. Any questions should be directed to your residence hall front desk staff.
