The First Women’s Movement (1848)

• *Equal Suffrage: Women had the right to vote

• *Partial Women Suffrage: women could vote on specific issues like mayoral elections but not Presidential elections.

The Second Women’s Movement of the early 20th Century (Progressive Era)

Main goal was to gain suffrage (right to vote).

• Read and annotate for the different BELIEFS and TACTICS used by Carrie Chapman Catt and Alice Paul.
