If there is an essential element for artistic creation is sensitivity, genetic element, innate andnever acquired, which allows man to elevate their creative thinking and that gives him thatspecial tone that will give way to his conversion into a work of art.Marc Prat is rolling into this sensitivity. His creative sense is such that allows him to masterdifferent artistic disciplines with a high level of quality. As sharing two professional fields asdiverse as painting and music. He is an artist and habitual bass musician accompanying world-class singers. His sensitivity, regarding the pictorial field, develops in the skillful combination of two factors:his technical mastery, with a particular impact on the proper use of drawing, color andmaterials processing, and secondly their ability to generate environments to expand -if possible-his pictorial intentionality.

Nexus is a series of aesthetic considerations on the concept of concentration. It turns around a centralperspective that I identify with the people, where all the power lies in the vanishing cloister, individuals astemples and referring to the ability of the human mind to organize reality according to one point of view…

The straight line is implicit in the perfect proportions of the square and it establishes a dialogue withpainting, much more open and expressive, the rigidity of the square is shaped by painting, driven by a kindof chance, midway between intentionality and an apparent accident.

When we look at Marc Prat, we find a young artist that also has an extensive career, filled withrelevant awards. Looking at his paintings, although we realize the mastery of technique, ofspaces and volumes, we perceive his particular creative world, with vibrant emotional imagesthat which provide a quiet and ineffable pleasure. His work, replete of domestic securities andintangible, makes us rise to the surface of the signs of his secret and personal world.Prat can play with large formats and make them accessible, close to the viewer. These formatsare characterized by their tones and subtlety, by adding nothing more of that strictly necessary. One of Prat’s virtues, possibly inherited from his musical training, is this great deal of sensitivitywith which endows his work. We should talk about of a new figuration, even a newexpressionism. The reality is transformed into the world of spirituality in the cloisters of the series Openingsalthough the masks of the Teotihuacan series seem to speak from beyond the grave. This is thesame dialogue between the sacred and the reality that can be seen in the Indicates series withthe Indian buffalos. It seems that the arrows that accompany his works tell us the way and thedisappointments of life. There is no empty painting on Marc Prat’s work. There is always asymbolism. It transports us to a shared internal experience, a gesture that, in essence, humanizes his work.In every work of Marc Prat there is a small part of this great artist. His creations are stillshowing the freshness of his personal universe. But they also show his commitment withcreativity, a strong step in favor of art, and the viewer values it.
