Using WorldView-2 imagery collected 26 July 2017 and compared to imagery collected 09 and 20 June 2017, UNOSAT located a total 217 areas of destruction comprising a total area of 45.5 ha mainly in the eastern part of the city. This represents 100 additional areas and an increase of 24.2 ha (or 113%) compared to the previous analysis done by UNOSAT using the image from 20 June 2017. Note that not all the city could be analyzed due to cloud cover and smoke in the satellite images, and some damaged areas could have been erroneously included or missed. This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field.
