Mapping Brazilian Geoglyphs through the Use of HRC-CBERS-2B Images.

-Ancient earthworks known as geoglyphs have been depicted by air photos over the landscapes of the State of Acre in Brazilian Western Amazonia. These features
are believed to be of pre-Columbus age and so far no acceptable explanations were found to the purposes they were built.
-Geoglyphs are square or circular perfect designs and measure not much than three hundred meters and so have been also registered in high resolution frames
collected by commercial satellites such those in GoogleEarth.
-This article describes how far HRC-CBERS public images can help one to recognize and to map the geoglyphs.
-Results show that HRC free-images are able to map and measure those features proving in this case that they can be reliable alternatives to commercial high
resolution satellite images and even aerial photos.
Abstract and Conclusion.
HRC-CBERS 2B: Geoglifo do Piloto (Acre-BR)
HRC-CBERS 2B-The INCA Trail: Bridging Andes and Amazonia
# Along 25 km of BR-31 Roadway that links cities of Rio Branco and Boca do Acre at least 12 geoglyphs were recognized in the HRC frames. These features were only mapped before in aerial photos or in high resolution commercial satellite frames such as IKONOS or QUICKBIRD.
## First conclusion rules that public-free images such are HRC-CBERS-2B can drive one to equivalent results when compared to commercial products as those provided by IKONOS, QUICKBIRD and SPOT-HRG.
