On Saturday, January 28, The Friends In Need
Food Bank is presenting their major fundraising
and fun event, celebrating Chinese New Year’s
“Year of the Dragon”.The event will be held at the Pitt Meadows Heritage Hall, 12460 Harris Road, Pitt Meadows, BC. Doors open at 6:00pm with dinner (Chinese Buffet) served at 7:00pm. Tickets are $25.00 per person, and includes a Chinese Dinner and an exciting evening fi lled with live entertainment, live and silent auction and much more. SPECIAL $350 full table of 16! For tickets call 604-466-3663
A couple of years ago when the Pitt Meadows Lion’s Club (which formerly ran this event), were looking for someone to partner with for their annual Chinese New Year’s party – the Friends In Need Food Bank Board of Directors jumped at the opportunity to take an already successful event and eventually make it their own. 2012 marks the third year in a row that the Friends In Need Food Bank has held Chinese New Year’s and they are hoping for it to be as successful as ever.
Those who have been to the Chinese New Years Celebration will remember experiencing fi rst-class multi-cultural entertainment including lively Lion dancing, authentic calligraphy drawing, Chinese potters, live and silent auctions. Come out and enjoy a great evening with friends and neighbours and support the local Friends In Need Food Bank.
We are urging everyone to buy tickets NOW- as this event ALWAYS sells out early.

Benson had the same home for all of his 9 years, but when his family moved he could not go with them. He was a great cat who lived in harmony with dogs and tolerated other cats. He is eager to make new friends. Benson is a loving, endearing cat. He has an old injury to his leg that may cause arthritis in the
future. Otherwise he is a healthy fellow who desperately needs to spend his senior years in a loving home. Armstrong is a good-natured, lovable, gentle boy, who is accepting of the other cats and seems comfortable around children. His family left him behind when they moved. He lived on a neighbour’s deck for two months and then began asking to come inside. That is when he came to us. Armstrong is probably starved for someone to love him and greets everyone eagerly looking for a pet. We hope he can win over a new family and enjoy being a safe and beloved family member for the rest of his life. This beautiful black cat has a heart of gold.

who have been mentored have higher self-esteem and are more likely to stay in
