working hard to bring members exciting monthly
programs, trips and activities, as well as making
sure proceeds from our March Snowball Gala go

Greetings from New President Sarah Lesko
Greetings,
I am excited to be President of the CCT this year and working
with a group of experienced and intelligent women. I know I will
learn a lot from working with you!
Just for introductions I will share a bit of knowledge about myself.
My husband and I have been expats for the last 13 years due to his
work in the aviation industry. We are both from Ontario but have
been lucky enough to have lived in Holland, Slovakia, Australia
and now for one year in Thailand.
Some of the goals I have for the club are to increase our online
presence, have more social activities involving all ages and
increase our welfare spending. The Snowball was a huge success
raising over 350,000 baht for charity. (Thank you Snowball
committee for your hundreds of hours of work). Our welfare
board members will be very busy choosing where this money will
be most effective.
Just a note about our Facebook group and it’s changes. It is now a
closed group and only members of the CCT have access to it. You
have the ability now to ask questions, give tips, make announce-
ments, sell your stuff etc. Many of our members have been living
here in Bangkok for a long time and they are a fountain of
knowledge. We should share this knowledge to help each other. It
is especially important for newcomers who are trying to navigate
there way around this busy city without family or knowing
anyone. However, we cannot add you to our Facebook group
unless you request to be in the Club Canada Thailand group. So if
you are on Facebook, please sign up!
Songkran is almost here and I am about to vacation in New
Zealand to escape the heat for a few weeks. For those staying
here, Happy New Year! I hope you enjoy the celebrations!
Sarah Lesko,
CCT President, 2015-2016
Thank You, Kirstin!
Thank you to Kirstin Lamoureux for her support and leadership
of Club Canada Thailand during the past year. In the midst of a major
move, she continued to lead the Board and represent CCT at gatherings
of other women’s groups in Bangkok.
For the Snowball Gala, Kirstin and her family flew back to
Bangkok from Myanmar in order to give full support to the club’s major
fundraiser. Thank you, Kirstin!

Thank you to all our Sponsors!
Special Sponsors Edition Coming Soon!
Snowball guests gathered on March 14th at the Four Seasons Hotel
for a delightful evening of Winter Wonderland Magic. Yes, it
“SNOWED” inside the packed ballroom! A stunning ice bar,
harpist, and dance music by The Bangkok Cousins Band made it a
night to remember! Proceeds benefit CCT charities.

CCT Mingle Evening at Gastropub
No Idea, a gastropub (their motto: "The answer to many of life's questions") played host to our
mingling group of more than 20 Club Canada Thailand members, spouses and friends in Janaury.
At the gastropub, located on Sukhumvit Road, Soi 22, minglers enjoyed a choice of the pub’s two
featured cocktails as well as their interesting and varied menu. The pub loft provided an intimate
atmosphere; their service and music were well appreciated.

Donate Your Travel Toiletries
Club Canada is encouraging all members to donate the
unused toiletry items that one receives from hotels and
airlines. Feel free to bring them to CCT events and give

Thank you, Carla! We’re going to miss you!
Carla McLean, a dedicated and hard-working CCT Board member
for many years, will be moving to Hong Kong this summer with her
husband Bill. It’s hard to imagine Club Canada Thailand without her!
Carla has played a vital role in keeping Club Canada Thailand a
thriving and vibrant club through the years. Whatever needed to be done,
she was always there for us all. From organizing Snowball galas, to
recording minutes, to hosting potlucks, to joining the Fiddleheads book
club and luncheons, to serving as treasurer (her most recent position),
Carla always stepped up to help and give it her all. Thank you, Carla!
