Twelve young-adult role models lead this interactive and unique online training.

The role models use different modes of communication and have diverse transition goals that include: • plans for

employment • training programs • postsecondary

education options

These role models were chosen to represent the diversity among deaf and hard of hearing students across the country.

The Map It Role Models were developed to support students if they get stuck answering a question. Each role model answers every question in the training and their answers are available for your students to see. Seeing how different people answer the question might give your students some ideas of how to answer the question for themselves. Students can access these answers in two ways. 1. Click on a character on the Map to read

their answers to all questions from the current section

2. Select a role model’s name from the drop down list in the upper right hand corner of the page. Each page that asks the student a question will have this drop down menu available.
