www.wiseguys.org.uk In small groups, give the students a copy of the flags and a map of Europe (one is provided but if you have one you prefer to use that’s fine!) Students can cut out the flags and make a paper chain from the flags. This can then be placed around a poster/ large copy of the map of Europe. This will visually represent how all the countries work together to make Europe a strong place, both culturally and economically It will also give a visual demonstration of how many different countries there are in Europe, and allow students to: • recognise how many different languages there might be; • cultural differences; • which are big countries; and • which are small countries.
