MRSv4 Chap. 6 Archiving and Access Systems

• Focus on – Major developments by CEOS, GEOSS, and ICSU (World Data

Centers) at the global level; – Initiatives at national levels to create data centers (e.g.

NASA DAACs and international counterparts)– Non-government systems (e.g. RGIS, CIESIN).

• Other major elements will focus on – emerging tools, requirements for metadata, data storage

and refresh, cloud computing, interoperability– science, engineering and standards used for state of the art

in operational and experimental systems
