Wash cycle description The wash cycle knob controls the wash process duration. The knob is able to turn in any direction.
White- For highly or slightly soiled cottons, white clothes, work, and/or play clothes
Color- For medium or lightly soiled colored garments
Delicate- Garments with embroidery applications, loose straps and delicate fabrics labeled for light washing
Spin-To drain the drum and the water from the clothes
Rinse- Rinses and spins unsoiled items when only rinse is desired
Off- The washer turns off and the start/pause button doesn’t work
Temperature Selection The washer includes an adaptive temperature system which detects the temperature of incoming water. By doing so it adjusts the filling water by obtaining a more precise temperature for all wash temperatures. For example, if you select the cold option, a small amount of warm water can be added in order to reach the necessary temperature to better dissolve detergents (frequently, detergent don’t dissolve completely in cold water). The room-temperature function disables the washer’s adaptive temperature system and uses the house’s running water temperature for cold washing. This can provide energy savings by reducing the amount of hot water used during washing.
Water level selection Manual mode: Turn the knob in order to select the water level according to amount of pending laundry. Automatic mode: This washer has an automatic water sensor option, which allows for efficient washing and the saving of large amounts of water by allotting the ideal quantity for each load. We recommend that you use the automatic option at all times.

About washer features For models: MCL6040ESBB and MCL6040PSBB
Fabric Softener Dispenser The fabric softener dispenser automatically releases liquid fabric softener at the right moment during the cycle. Do not stop the washer during the first spin. This will cause the dispenser to empty too quickly. For proper use follow these steps: 1. Make sure that the dispenser is safely fastened to the shaker. 2. Use only diluted, liquid fabric softener. Pour into the dispenser
using the amount recommended on the package. Never pour fabric softener directly on laundry this may cause staining. Note: Do not pour bleach into the FABRIC SOFTENER dispenser.
3. Add water to the dispenser unit until it reaches the maximum fill line.
4. Select the FABRIC SOFTENER button on the control panel for proper dispersion of the fabric softener. Separate in order to clean.
FABRIC SOFTENER dispenser cleaning 1. Remove the dispenser from the top of the shaker. 2. Separate the dispenser cup from the lid taking the top part and
pushing it down towards the inside of the cup with your fingers. The dispenser cup will be freed from the lid.
3. To clean dispenser, soak the dispenser cup and lid in the following solution:
3.8 liters of lukewarm water
¼ of a cup (60 ml.) of high resistance liquid detergent
1 cup (240 ml.) of bleach 4. If necessary, loosen buildup with a clean and soft rag after soaking.
Do not use rigid brush since the dispenser surface could get rough. 5. Rinse and reassemble dispenser, then place the dispenser in the
shaker.

For models: MCL6840ESBB and MCL6840PSBB Fort the use of softener 1. Add DILUTED softener when starting the rinse cycle and once the drum is filled. 2. Never pour softener directly onto the clothes. For models: MCL6040ESBB, MCL6040PSBB, MCL6840ESBB and MCL6840PSBB Bleach dispenser The incoming water dilutes chlorine bleach while the washer fills for the wash cycle. 1. Check garment care tags for special instructions. 2. Carefully measure liquid bleach while following the instructions on the bottle.
Never pour liquid chlorine bleach without diluting directly on the laundry or wash drum.
Do not pour powdered bleach in the chlorine dispenser. 3. Before turning on the washer, pour a measured amount of bleach directly into the chlorine dispenser. Avoid
spatter or excessive filling of the dispenser. If you would rather use powdered bleach, add it to the wash drum with the detergent.
Do not mix chlorine bleach with ammonia or acids such as vinegar and/or rust remover; the mix may produce a toxic gas that could cause death.
Note: do not pour bleach into the fabric softener dispenser.

Loading and use of the washer Always follow the instructions from the tag about the care of fabric when washing. How to sort loads for washing:
Sort by color (whites, lights, by color); level of dirtiness; type of fabric (strong cotton, easy
care, delicate clothing) and if the fabric produces lint (terry cloth, chenille) or collects lint
(corduroy, velvet).
Add detergent and start washer before adding clothes so that the detergent will work effectively.
The use of too little or too much detergent is a common cause of problems during washing.
You can use less detergent when using soft water, a small load or a relatively clean load.
Load washer with dry clothes in such a way that does not exceed the holes in the washer drum.
When loading wet clothes, make sure to select the proper water level. This will allow the
garments to move freely. The water level should just cover clothes. To add garments having
already started washing, open lid and submerge in water.
Make sure bulky items are distributed throughout the drum walls.
Do not wash fabrics that contain flammable materials (waxes, cleaning liquids, etc.)
If the washer lid is open, the stirring stage will not start.
Washer care and cleaning
Washer drum: Leave lid open after end of wash to allow for the humidity to evaporate. If you
wish to wash the drum, use a soft, clean, damp cloth with liquid detergent; then rinse. (Do not
use rough or sandy cleaners).
Input hoses: Mabe recommends changing hoses every 5 years.
On the outside: Immediately clean up any spills. Clean with a damp cloth. Try not to bump
the surface with sharp objects.

Important: Clean lint catching filter every time you use the dryer.
1 a) Automatic dry cycle
During the dry cycle, the knob will not turn until the thermostat sensor indicates that the laundry is dry; the
knob then automatically turns to the off position.
Temperatures
High: For regular and heavy cotton. For most loads use OPTIMUM DRY.
Medium: For mixed, synthetic and permanent press labeled garments.
Low: For delicate, synthetic and woven garments that require special care. Garments labeled for low
temperature drying. The automatic cycles immediately determine the fabric’s level of dryness. Select less dry if you wish
clothes to be slightly damp at the end of the drying cycle. Select more dry is you wish them to be dryer.
Time cycles work for a determined amount of time.
b) Dry cycles per time (manual) Drying per time: The timer turns throughout the cycle.
Unwrinkle: To eliminate wrinkles from clean clothes and that are barely damp or dry.
Refresh: To refresh or remove lint from dry clothes.
2 Start Close dryer lid. Press start. Open lid during process and dryer will stop. To start dryer, close lid and select start to complete the cycle.
Service Engineering
- 19 -
Dryer care and cleaning
Lint-catching filter: Clean the filter before each use. Slide off the wire mesh that covers the filter. Run your
fingers over the filter. It’s possible for a wax buildup to form in the lint-catching filter due to the use of fabric
softeners added to the dryer. To eliminate said buildup, wash the lint-catching mesh with warm water and soap.
Dry completely and replace. Do not use the dryer without having the lint-catching filter and the wire mesh in
place. Ask a qualified technician to vacuum the lint from the dryer once a year.
Exhaust: Inspect and clean the exhaust duct at least once a year in order to avoid obstructions. A partially clogged exhaust might extend drying time.
Follow these steps:
1. Unplug the dryer.
2. Disconnect the dryer exhaust.
3. Empty exhaust with attached hose and reconnect.
Exhaust hood: With a mirror make sure that the hood’s inner flaps move freely while operating. Check that
there are not any nests (birds, insects, etc.) inside the duct or hood.
Outside: Clean and shake off any spills or cleaning compound with a damp cloth. The dryer control panel and finish may be harmed by stain removal products used in washing pre-treatment. Keep these products away from the dryer. Afterwards you may wash and dry clothes normally. Any damage to the dryer caused by these products will not be covered by the warranty.

Step 2 Turn program knob to the left. Turn temperature knob to verify different temperatures; if the wash center has water inputs correctly installed, the cold and hot water temperatures will be verifible by putting your hand in the incoming water. In case only a couple valves are connected to the cold water you will have to verify if the cold water coils energize. This can be verified by touching the valves and listening for shifting of the coils, or visualy with the change of the flow of water. Step 3 Having concluded the test, a draining stage begins. Turn the program knob immediately to the left so the water doesn’t drain; the wash center will start washing. Step 4 Turn the water level knob to the minimum level; the draining phase will begin. During this process the appropiate function of both the pump and the thermoactuator is validated by activation process of the spin stage. Step 5 Once the washer draining stage is over a gear arrangement is made. It will not spin until the progam knob is turned to the left. Once it has reached its maximum RPMs, it shuts off. The wash center has a pulley with its 16 poles magnet. If it had an 8 poles pulley it wouldn’t stop spining since with a fewer pole magnet there are less RPMs. Ends service program.
