Thiswill remove the toner hopper endcap arm from the socket on thewaste hopper (see photos 5 & 6). Setthe toner hopper aside.
Photo 6NOTE: Be careful when separating thetoner hopper. The drum can be damagedin the process.
Step 6Remove the two screws holding the wiperblade (see photo 9). Remove the wiperblade and clean the wiper blade using drycompressed air.
Step 7Clean the waste hopper using drycompressed air or a vacuum.
Step 5Carefully lift out the PCR (see photo 8).Clean the shaft of the PCR using a dry lint-free cloth to remove any conductive grease.Clean the PCR using a new dry lint-freecloth. Distilled water can be used to cleanthe PCR if needed.
Step 4Lift the gear end of the drum up. Rotate thedrum counter-clockwise while pulling thedrum from the contact axle (see photo 7).Place the drum in a protected area out ofthe light.
Step 8Apply padding powder to a new or onceused wiper blade. Place the blade onto thewaste hopper and install the two screwsthat hold the blade in place (see photo 10).
Step 11Apply padding powder to a new or onceused drum. Slide the drum onto the contactaxle while rotating the drum counter-clockwise. Place the drum bearing end caponto the waste hopper. Rotate the drum 4-5revolutions while cleaning the PCR using alint-free cloth. (see photo 13). Remove thebearing end cap when completed. Set thewaste hopper section aside.
Step 9Using a cotton swab, clean the PCR saddleusing alcohol. Apply new conductive greaseto the black conductive PCR saddle. Installthe PCR (see photo 11).
Step 10Clean the drum axle. Apply new conductivegrease to the drum axle using a cotton swab(see photo 12).
NOTE: Failure to apply conductive greaseto the drum axle hub can result inrepetitive light print defect.
Step 12Grab the toner hopper, remove the twoscrews holding the gear housing end cap tothe toner hopper. Please note the screwsthat hold the end caps to the toner hopperhave locking washers, make sure thesescrews are used to hold the end caps inplace (see photo 14). Remove the end cap(see photo 15).
Step 14Rotate the toner hopper 180° andremove the screw that holds thecontact end cap to the toner hopper(see photo 17). Remove the contactend cap (see photo 18).

Photo 20Step 16Remove the two screws that hold the doctorblade in place (see photo 20). Remove thewhite scrapers from the ends of the doctorblade.
Step 17Insert a small flat blade screwdriverbetween the doctor blade and the tonerhopper on the gear end of the hopper (seephoto 21). Pry the doctor blade away fromthe toner hopper. Clean the doctor bladeusing dry compressed air.
Step 18Place the toner hopper into the FutureGraphics HP P1005/P1006/P1505 tonerhopper holding fixture and drill guide(HP1505THHOLD) to safely drill a new fill-hole (see photo 22).
Step 19Lock the toner hopper into place by pushingdown the red handle (see photo 23).
Step 20To refill an HP P1005/P1006 (CB435A) or HPP1505 (CB436A) starter cartridge, use theleft drill guide. To refill an HP P1005/P1006(CB435A) or HP P1505 (CB436A) standardcartridge, use the drill guide on the right (seephoto 24).
Step 21Using a small flat blade screwdriver pushthe seal exit port plug from the inside of thetoner hopper. (see photo 25). Pull out theseal exit port plug.
Step 22Clean the toner hopper using drycompressed air.
