A Diversified Economy Manitoba’s economy is among the most diversified in Canada
Economic diversity provides for more stable growth rates over time, since weakness in certain industries is offset by strength in others; no one or two industries dominate the economy
Diversity exists “within” major industries as well:
agriculture: even split between crops and livestock
• even these are diversified- e.g. pork, cattle, poultry, sheep, etc.
mining: nickel, but also copper, zinc, gold & industrial minerals
manufacturing: processed foods and transportation equipment, but also wood products, chemicals, furniture, paper, etc.

There are many ways to cook
with carrots: fresh or
steamed; as a stand alone
side dish or added to other
recipes. Manitoba carrots are
also available as powders,
are added to beverages and
made into snack foods.
Manitoba is a leading
producer of carrots in
Canada. The best carrots
grow around Portage la
Prairie because of the
unique combination of soil,
moisture and heat.
Health benefits
Naturally sweet and high in fibre, Manitoba grown carrots are also high in
essential minerals and vitamins, including Vitamin A. In fact, eating just 1 serving
of carrots daily will give you all the Vitamin A you need.

Hemp foods are a nutritional powerhouse that actually taste great! Packed with essential
nutrients like protein, healthy fats, fiber, iron, folate acid and magnesium, hemp foods have
a slightly nutty taste that compliment any food. Hemp products are a complete plant-based
protein, contain all 10 essential amino acids, full of good fats - omega 3 & omega 6. Hemp is
rich in the rare Omega-6 gamma linolenic acid (GLA), which has been shown to help with
skin & hair health, hormone balancing, inflammation, cholesterol maintenance, and overall
heart health. (Hemp is the only food source of GLA). It is easy to digest. Hemp has one of
the highest digestibility scores. It is packed with magnesium - “mother nature’s muscle
relaxant.” Magnesium has been shown to help reduce headaches, constipation, stress,
cramps, and more.
