What is it
• Mangrove forest are forest in coastal area affected by the tide ,but not affected with the climate
Area of the mangrove:50,000(ha)Place: Aceh
Component in mangrove
• Biotic :the bigest biotic factor is tree ,mud crab, birds ,sea snakes, algae , barnacles , oyster, sponges ,mosquitos, insect boatman ,and bryozoans
• Abiotic : salinity ,Oxygen , water.
Interdependent Happen
• People depends on mangrove trees to protect them from the flood from the tide.
• People depends on mangrove trees to make or building their shelter
• The fish ,mosquitos and insect boatman depends on algae for food ,without algae these three animals wouldn't exist and so of their predator.
• The human around mangrove need the water for their daily supply.
Symbiosis
• The fish ,mosquitos and insect boatman depends on algae for food ,without algae these three animals wouldn't exist and so of their predator.(parasitism)
• People depends on mangrove trees to make or building their shelter.(parasitism)
Food web
Food web• The food chain of a mangrove forest relies heavily on the recycling of
the detritus, made by the falling leaves of the trees. This role is mainly filled by the smaller creatures, such as the burrowing crab and the snapping shrimp. Others like the tube worm and bristle worm also do this. These species, because they are eating the plant material, are considered the primary consumers of the ecosystem and the mangroves are the main producers. One step above these creatures is the smaller fish of the mangrove forests. Some of these fish are the mosquitofish, the least killifish, and the sail fin molly. The top level of this food chain are the wading birds, such as egrets or ospreys. They feed on the fish is the community, who take shelter in the roots of the mangrove trees. Other birds of this ecosystem are the white-crowned pigeon, the eastern brown pelican, and the tricolored heron.
Problem• In December 26,2004 tsunami has caused the destruction
of mangrove forest in the province of coral reef and coastal forest of 50000 hectares.
• Chopping down mangroves for charcoal and timber is an important cottage industry for many coastal communities. Mangrove wood is used for building material, fencing, and fuel. It also yields valuable, high-quality charcoal. In places where fishing has declined below subsistence levels, many people have turned to charcoal production for their livelihood, which furthers the cycle of habitat loss and fishery decline
Problem
• People chopping trees for building material and for selling them for making money .if this keep happening the number of the mangrove trees will getting less and probably there will be negative impact.
Some ways to stop
• You can start by a simple way which start to use more alternative energy rather than coal to stop the charcoal factory that use a the mangrove trees as the wood.
• Decrease the use of wooden material to stop the workers for doing illegal logging.
The best Way
• You can start by a simple way which start to use more alternative energy rather than coal to stop the charcoal factory that use a the mangrove trees as the wood.
I choose this as a best way to save mangrove forest in Aceh because this is a very simple way we can do and it is not really hard to do this ,you can do this where ever you are and when ever you are.
