Dr. Richard Bauer Dr. Richard E. Bauer, III, DMD, MD is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Dental Medicine and
Medicine. Dr. Bauer completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh
Medical Center. Dr. Bauer has served on multiple committees for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery. Dr. Bauer is a full-time faculty member and Residency Program Director at the University of Pittsburgh in the
department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and his practice is focused on dental implants and corrective jaw surgery.
He has been active in research with focuses on hard and soft tissue regeneration and computer assisted surgery. He
has recently been awarded the Peter Geistlich Research Award which support the advancement of hard and soft tissue
regeneration in Oral and CranioMaxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Hector SarmientoDr. Hector L. Sarmiento graduated with a degree in Dental Medicine from the Universidad Cuauhtemoc in Mexico,
where he then received training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He also completed his residency program in Advanced
Education in General Dentistry at the University of Rochester. Dr. Sarmiento also received his specialty certificate in
Periodontics and his Masters in Oral Biology from the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with honors.
During his training Dr. Sarmiento was named the J. George Coslet scholar and received the Directors award given to
him upon his graduation by the University of Pennsylvania where he now serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in
the Postgraduate Periodontics Department. Dr. Sarmiento spends the majority of his time at his prestigious practice on
the upper east side of Manhattan, New York as well as lecturing internationally for his research and clinical expertise
on periimplantitis and bone biology which directly correlates to the many articles he has published in peer review
journals.
