Whole Group Present Pearson Lessons for Topic 10 and 11 Reinforce plus and minus signs and vocabulary from Topics 10 and 11. Hands on: Students make number models with cubes and place on tens and ones mat.

Game: Students draw from index cards containing 2 digit number to subtract. Have students work in teams of 2 – 4 to solve problems. Students draw thinking and T and T to explain thinking. Teacher facilitates learning. Use quick checks for understanding.

Intervention In small group repeat game . Scaffold with 100’s chart and tens and ones mat. Be sure to include problem solving examples from Quick Checks.
