IMO Resolution No. A.927 ( 22 ) on 29 November 2001 on Guidelines for the designation of special areas under MARPOL 73/78 and Guidelines for the identification and designation of Particularly Sensitive Sea Areas. 5. 6. Around Batu Berhenti, minimum lane width 800 m , depth -23 m
There is Crossing area along the TSS that demands alertness
and vigilance of the Pilot for ships entering – out from :1. Port of Singapore
2. Port Dickson
3. Port Klang
4. Malaka
5. Karimun Island (STS)
6. Nipa STS
7. North of Nongsa Island – Batam
The ship actions will be pilotage :1. Ships must report pilotage request at least 24 hours before service, and arriving on
Pilot Boarding Point on day light at least 17.00 LT
2. 1 or 2 hours before the ship entered the TSS , pilot must have boarded the ship.
3. Speed of VLCC and DDV in SOMS no more than 12 knots, the pilot must take
into account the speed of the tide in the critical areas.
4. In the implementation of pilotage , allowed to hamper shipping traffic along the
TSS . and may not cause potential distress

Horsburgh Lh (01o 35’ 00’’ N / 104o 35’ 00’’ E) to Northern Part of Berhala Island 03o 54’ 35’’ N /
099o 32’ 77’’E (before of One Fathom Bank), Karimun STS Transfer area, STS Nipa (NTAA),
Durian Strait, Batam Port, Kuala Tanjung, Port of Belawan, Port of Lhokseumawe, Port of Dumai
and Sungai Pakning (Bengkalis Strait). or return way
Parts that we provide free of charge as a form of our concern are :
1. Requesting Security Guard (Navy, Army & Marine Police) to escort on board vessel during
pilotage.
2. Security surveillance by ships/boat patrol of Navy, Marine Police & Coast Guard during pilotage
3. Utilization of assist tugs escort on critical areas.

Our commitment to sign a Letter of Indemnity for pilotage on board which is covering
fines or any claim arising from any action :
1. Negligence or carelessness during pilotage.
2. Pilot accident (embarkation/disembarkation).
