THE POET USES REPETITION THROUGHOUT 'LIMBO' TO BUILD TENSION AND AID RHYTHM. AN EXAMPLE OF THIS IS THE REPEATED LINE, "AND THE DARK DECK IS SLAVERY”. THE REPETITION IS USED FOR EFFECT HERE TO EMPHASISE THE TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE THE SLAVES ARE GOING THROUGH ON THE CRAMPED AND DANGEROUS SLAVE SHIP.
