MADETO

Page 2: Making Content Stick for SOURCE

What are techniques you use to remember

things for school?

Page 3: Making Content Stick for SOURCE

What do all of these techniques have in

common?

Page 4: Making Content Stick for SOURCE

Let’s talk about rote memorization for a

hot sec.

Page 5: Making Content Stick for SOURCE

It’s like working

out.

So inefficient lol.

Also, nearly everyone does this.

So mainstream lol.

Page 6: Making Content Stick for SOURCE

The “Goods” of Rote

● Its Easy.● Its guaranteed. (sorta)

Page 7: Making Content Stick for SOURCE

The “Bads” of Rote

● Its boring. Like, “gouge out your eyes” boring.

● It still takes some focus to perform successfully.

● It takes a long time.

The component is the actual writing of the grants themselves. The last component (which stems from writing grants) is organizing all grant-related information into a older/document that Mark and Alicia can easily pull from in the future. Essentially, with this third part we hope to create a deliverable and a presentation that make their ability to rite grants much more organized and efficient.

Now think about this.

The Board separated into two groups and held a discussion of the current situation of Claremont Museum of Art. This activity helped to map CMA’s current strengths,

weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to success.

We presented the brochure at a client meeting and at the CTEC steering meeting, and they liked it. They would like to see more versions to choose from.

We have completed this semester’s impact analysis. We presented great results to the CTEC steering committee, and I will follow-up with Margie to see what other results she would like to see in the future.

It has been a very busy month for everyone and has been hard to get people to do the

amount of work I feel we need to do. Maybe I need to schedule more team meetings or

implement ways that we can make sure things are getting accomplished.

Claremont Heritage asked us to give feedback on a membership satisfaction they areplanning to give to former members to find out why they are no longer members of CH. They gave us a few questions to work with, but we rephrased most of them, to create a survey with eight questions. We have suggested that they create it in an online format, but are still waiting to hear back about what they think of this idea. Please describe the deliverable in depth (to date). This includes when the project began, Consultant responsibilities, what has happened with the project, any Client issues, and changes that have happened as it has progressed.

You’re throwing a ton of info at your

client.

How much do you think they’re

remembering?

YET WE GIVE PRESENTATIONS LIKE

THIS?!

Every Powerpoint Slide Ever.

● Generic bullet point #1o Wall of text. Wall of text. Wall of text. Wall of text.

Wall of text. Wall of text. Wall of text. Wall of text.Wall of text. Wall of text. Wall of text. Wall of text.Wall of text.

● Generic bullet point #2o Something I’m just going to read verbatim

without any explanation or explication.

● Generic bullet point #3o Oh shoot. I spent too much time reading the

damn slide that I can’t even get to this point. Sorry audience.

Terrifying clipart. With completely obvious caption.

Page 11: Making Content Stick for SOURCE

We know this looks bad. Why do we

make our slides like this?

Page 12: Making Content Stick for SOURCE

Because literally everyone else does it like this. And we want to give the audience what they expect.

Page 13: Making Content Stick for SOURCE

The irony is that no one wants to listen to a person presenting

something they expect.

They want to be shocked. They want to break

things.

Page 14: Making Content Stick for SOURCE

This workshop will show you how to shock your audience. Let’s break

something together.
