The fair trade movement makes sure that farmers are paid a fair minimum wage which they have agreed to.

Fair trade gives money back to the community through the fair trade premium.

“The committee has 11 members. We try and meet every month and we decide what we are going to spend the

premium on. There are 109 society members so we would like to buy more rotovators so that everybody will be able

to use them. It is such a good tool – the latest – and it makes the field almost as soft as cotton.”
