Each student takes a possessive building frame. Spread the cards out on the table in front of you. Share with the students at your station. 2. Choose one person, animal, or thing card and place it on the building frame. Now choose a word that describes what the person, animal or thing might “possess” or have. Place the word card on the frame. 3. On a sheet of paper, record the two cards using an apostrophe to create a possessive. Now use the possessive noun in a sentence and record on your paper. 3. Skip a line and build another possessive. Use it in a sentence. Practice building possessives to complete the front side of your paper.
Challenge: Look through the newspapers and magazines provided for examples of possessive nouns. Cut three examples out and neatly glue on the back of your paper.
