• 50 NCP-eligible CE Credits and 3 NCP Workshops over 5-year renewal period
• Maximums–# credits permitted to be filed in calendar year = 30
• Credits over max. of 30 per year – No carry over to next year
• Credits over max. required 50 credits – No carry over to next 5-year renewal period
–No need to file additional credits over maximums
What Is Required?

• What is a CE credit?–50 minutes of education = 1 credit
• Standard across the industry for CE credits tied to total minutes of education
–Fractional CE credits are common• Examples:
–1-hour session = 1.2 CE credits –90-min. session = 1.8 CE credits

• What is a Workshop?–ECCHO-hosted NCP session offered 3 times
annually• Typically 90-min. webinars • Targeted for May, August and November
–Maximum• 2 Workshops per calendar year recognized as
Workshops for renewal requirements • Other(s) may optionally be used for CE credits

• Workshop Participation–NCP must be the purchaser to be recognized for
Workshop requirement–Tracked by ECCHO
• If you are the purchaser of a Workshop, no need to enter the session when filing credits–Entry is made to your NCP record upon
purchase and confirmed participation

• Workshops for CE credits – “Piggy-backs”– One NCP purchases Workshop and other NCP(s) may sit in and
listen on that purchased Workshop line• Counts only for CE credits• Does not count as a Workshop requirement

of workshop– Get completion certificate
• ECCHO will provide; keep to confirm attendance for audits
– File the credits – Workshop(s) used for CE credits are entered by the NCP – same as any CE session

Pre-Approved Sessions• Sessions submitted to ECCHO by NCP training partners and providers
– Sessions verified as eligible for NCP CE credits (include NCP Education topics)• Pre-Approved sessions posted as they are provided to & accepted by ECCHO• Session costs will vary depending on the provider
– Some offered at no charge
Other Sessions (not pre-approved)• Credit eligibility based on inclusion of approved/eligible topics
– Based on NCP Exam Blueprint: Outline of knowledge areas tested by exam• Educational Sessions may include:
– Conferences, industry group meetings, webinars, lunch-and-learn sessions, in-person meetings, others
• Maintain documentation – 2 years– NCP is responsible to maintain documentation for sessions submitted for CE credits
for 2 years after filing

• Credit filing window is Jan 1- March 31 every year (for credits earned in prior calendar year)– Sessions may be entered throughout the year (as just
described) and will show in the “Pending Sessions” box• Once filing window opens, see “Pay Now to Submit” box
– Credits may only be submitted with fee once per year– Once fee is paid, filed sessions move to processed
• Do NOT submit and pay if you have other sessions you plan to enter for the prior calendar year– Cannot submit sessions for prior year once you’ve
finalized your credit filing via this process

with fee payment is due between Jan 1 and Mar 31st• Late Filing: May file late with additional fee

• Each year ECCHO randomly selects 50 NCPs whose CE credits will be audited–Standard process for industry accreditation programs–Once each 5-year period
• “Random” is the key word• If you get a notice but were audited
in prior year in your current 5-yearcycle, please contact program admin at [email protected]
