I once again look forward to being your President and will do everything in my power to make sure that 2019 is a banner year for Social Activities at Unit Two. Your New Board will assume their responsibilities at the Social Club Membership meeting on January 9th after Kaffee Klatch. Prior to that a combined board meeting with the 2018 and the 2019 board will take place on January 2nd.

2019 Social Club Board President: Charlie Hemeon............One Year Term Vice President: Jim Schimpf.........One Year Term Secretary: Carolyn Chilton,...........One Year Term Jerry Smith, Treasurer...................One Year Term Barbara Walsh, Director......2nd Year of Two-Year Term Gerrie Curry, Director...................Two Year Term Millie Cole, Director.....................Two Year Term Chris Eichinger, Director..............Two Year Term Connie Vawter, Director...............Two Year Term

Gail Arsenault will serve as an advisor to the Board as Past President. Our main event in January will be our Annual Appreciation Dinner. This is the time each year when we

show our appreciation and gratitude to those who make our events a success. Anyone who has volunteered in any capacity during 2018 is invited to attend. There will be a catered dinner and you will be recognized for your

service, because without you not much would happen at Unit 2. As always, coffee, soda and bottled water will be available.

Once the new board has had an opportunity to meet, we will give you a complete calendar of events that are planned through the Spring.

Please remember that your Social Club Board is here to serve you. We look forward to receiving suggestions of events you would like to see held and input on what we can do to make the social events at Unit Two better. I introduced the “Suggestion Box” the last time I was President and I promise that I will review items in the box on a regular basis and discuss these with you at our monthly membership meetings.*Gail Arsenault, Past-President, would like to thank everyone that made the Social Club a success and lots of fun these past two years.

GOLF CART PARADE 2018

On December 7th, a beautiful warm evening, Unit 2 once again hosted the annual Mainlands Golf Cart Parade. We had 21 Golf Carts that were judged. The parade was once again this year lead by a Fire Engine from the Pinellas Park Fire Department. We really appreciate them providing us this service. It makes the parade that much more important.

Since this is an all Mainlands Event, we reached out to other units to provide judges for the parade. The Judges were: Dan Hill (Unit 7), Sherri Cooper (Unit 1), Marci Harding (Unit 6) and Barbara Walsh (Unit 2). A special Thanks to these Judges for stepping forward and helping us.THE WINNERS ARE:

First Place – A.J. Mangini and Phyllis Clark – Unit 7 Second Place – Kevin and Kelli Pilsbury – Unit 5 Third Place – Charles Wright - Unit 2

Each Winner was given a gift card and the First Place Winners will have a plate with their names added to our Golf Cart Trophy which has a permanent home in Unit 2. The difference between first place and third was only 3 points – CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL. A special THANKS to all who stepped forward and made cookies for the event. They were great.
