and expanded its grade coverage to become a K-12 school. Lotus is one of the best STEM school in Aurora and quickly becoming one of the best in Colorado serving especially underserved and economically disadvantaged students.
TUBITAK-UEKAEMarch 2009 – June 2009 (4 months)
Project: Developed a GMM-based language identification (LID) system forUEKAE (National Institue of Electronics and Cryptology of Turkey) on OGIMultilanguage Telephone Corpus. Also helping to improve the performanceof UEKAE's ASR Engine by integrating PMVDR noise-robust features andBISN speaker normalization both of which were developed during his PhDthesis research. Current LID system he developed is performing better thanall GMM-based systems reported in the LID literature on the samedatabase.
INFOTURE, INCFebruary 2005 – February 2009 (4 years 1 month)
Project: Responsible for the software development of an assessment toolused to monitor and assess the language development of children ages 0-4years. The project involved establishing the speech recognition frameworkwithin the company as well as creating new algorithms to handle childspeech recognition and automatic language assessment (an area in whichnobody has substantial expertise yet), adult speech analysis andrecognition, speaker segmentation, speaker identification, speechcompression, speech enhancement and other issues related to robustspeech processing. The product will be very helpful in detecting delays inspeech development of infants and young children and will allow for earlyintervention for maximum benefit to disadvantaged children. Developed Cand MATLAB code implementations, PERL scripts, and helped with a lot oftesting tasks.
University of Colorado, BoulderAugust 2000 – December 2004 (4 years 5 months)
Center for Spoken Language ResearchProjects: Model adaptation, robust parameterization and speakernormalization for robust speech recognition in adverse noisy conditions withemphasis on in-vehicle speech recognition; member of the CSLR team thatparticipated in DARPA/NRL SPINE I & II tasks and Eurospeech-01 Auroratask
IBM, TJ Watson Research CenterMay 2003 – August 2003 (4 months)
Embedded Speech Recognition GroupProject: Development of computationally efficient on-the-fly speakernormalization algorithms for the embedded speech engine.
