WHERE AND WHEN DR. SEUSS WAS BORN

Dr. Seuss was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts.

DR. SEUSS’ EDUCATION

Dr. Seuss went to Central High School in Springfield, MA. Then he went to Dartmouth College for men only. After graduating from Dartmouth, he went to Oxford University in England.

DR. SEUSS’ EARLY LIFE AND CAREER

Dr. Seuss quit Oxford to draw for a living. In 1927 he got a job as a cartoonist. Then he became an author and illustrator for children’s books in. His first book came out in 1937. He made reading very, very, very fun for kids.

THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF DR. SEUSS

Dr. Seuss’ main accomplishmentswere that he won the Pulitzer

Prize in 1984 and published over 60 children’s books. Some of his famous books are ‘Hop on Pop’, ‘Cat in the Hat’ and ‘One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish’.

Dr. Seuss’ impact on the world was that he made reading fun for kids by using rhyming words and amazing illustrations.

THE DEATH OF DR. SEUSS

Dr. Seuss published his last book in 1990, ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go!’ He died in 1991 because of throat cancer.
