It's finally winter, and we can break out

all our scarves, gloves, and jackets.

Unfortunately, we are going to have to

leave our non-uniform jackets at home,

so we do not break the dress code. If

you just can't bear to part with your

awesome jacket for seven hours, you

can wear your colorful jackets outside.

Have you ever wanted a cute and

colorful design on your nails but don't

have the skill to do so yourself? Well,

you're in luck since a new company

called Jamberry Nails has made an

easy-and fun- way to make your nails

look super cute with hardly any effort!

The best part about is that they aren't

gel, yet they last for two weeks, with

zero chipping! All you have to do is

warm up the nails and stick them on!

If you are just tired of uniforms, or want

to spice up your look, add an accesso-

ry such as a scarf, bracelet, necklace,

or your favorite boots! For your hair this

season, you might want to try a messy

bun, a milkmaid braid, or just slip on a

LuluLemon headband.

For the boys at our school, you may

want to wear a pair of bight colored

Vans or Nikes. Guys might also want

to grab a red, blue, or white hoodie

with a beanie to match. Good luck,

everyone on finding some wintry out-

fits to wear around campus. Stay

warm!!

Talk to the Hawk

Dear Sad Third Grader,

I am not really a great artist, so I cannot give you

tips on drawing, sketching, etc. I can however, still

give you advice. If you truly love drawing, then don’t

give up. When someone does not like your drawing, it

gives you another challenge. In addition, you should

always think on the positive side of things, and it does

not matter what your brother thinks. The only

thoughts that count are yours.

Dear Hawk,

I really need advice for drawing. Eve-

ryone says that my drawings are amaz-

ing, but my brother said that they are

terrible. I am so sad. Please help me!

Sincerely,

A sad third grader

Not only does our marvelous mu-sic teacher love singing, she ob-viously loves children and has taken our CTA Independence Chorus to new heights. Our holi-day concert was a huge success

on December 9th. You should have heard that holiday cheer.

Music class is also an adventure. The younger grades enjoy singing original songs written by Mrs. Lamberth, while the upper grades learn how to create their own music with recorders. All in all, Music is decking the halls of CTA independence.

Happy holidays! Are you in the mood to sing? Mrs. Lamberth was recently interviewed about her job here at CTA Independence. She has taught music at our school for nine years; can you believe it? Did you know Mrs. Lamberth doesn’t just teach students here at CTA Independence? She also is influen-tial and helps mentor the new mu-

The holidays are here and I know

I’m supposed to give you healthy

treats, but I think I can skip

“healthy” this time around. When

I saw these awesome holiday

reindeer cookies, I knew that

they would be perfect. They are

just too cute! To learn how to

make these incredibly

“unhealthy” cookies, go to: http://

We have a new teacher joining the

CTA family and she is the one and on-

ly, Mrs. Ausdemore! In 2005, she

graduated from Eastern Washington

University, in Spokane, Washington.

She then moved to Arizona in 2010 and

loves it! Some interesting things she

likes to do are read a good book, do

outdoorsy things such as hiking, and

do home improvement. She recently

hired someone to redo her house. Mrs.

Ausdemore also has two wonderful

dogs named Otis, who is 16, and Theo,

short for Theodore Roosevelt, who is

an adopted 11 year old dog.

Mrs. Ausdemore has a lovely hus-

band named Darren. Every year, they

go see family in Montana, South Dako-

ta. When visiting, they go to the

Black Hills, which aren’t really black;

they are just called that because it

looks dark from a distance, covered

in evergreens. Some of Mrs.

Ausdemore’s favorite quotes are

from Dr. Seuss and Nelson Mandela.

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile

because it happened.” –Dr. Seuss.

“Education is the most powerful

weapon, which you can use to change

the world.” –Nelson Mandela. Her fa-

vorite book is a fantasy titled Ink-

heart. Well, there she is ladies and

gents! You’ll love her!

Have you ever drawn with chalk on the sidewalk? If you have, CONGRATULATIONS! You are officially a street artist. Street art is a way artists can express themselves on the side-walk, a street, or anything they walk on (outside of course) us-ing different forms of art. One of the most famous kinds of street art is 3D street art. A famous 3D street artist is Kurt Wenner. He was one of the first people to do 3D street art. Street artists also use impressionism. Impressionism use lines and shapes to make images like people. Sten & Lex are two Italian artists who are very famous for their street art in Italy made by using impressionism.
