Donna Kay

Donna Kay is a victorious living example of what it takes to overcome the most

difficult and challenging circumstances that one can sometimes experience. She

faced a 5-year daily debilitating struggle that majorly tested her faith and almost

took her life. During that time she suffered from the most severe case of chronic

insomnia a person could possibly endure resulting in painful mental and physical

exhaustion, major depression, electrifying anxiety, nonstop fear, panic attacks,

nervous breakdowns, sleeping pill addiction, anti-depressant and anti-psychotic

prescription dependence, restless leg syndrome, post traumatic stress disorder,

fatigue, low self-esteem, lack of self-worth, financial problems, divorce, the

death of both her parents, and 2 near suicide attempts.

Donna Kay's miserable desperation for sleep led her into $50,000 of debt trying

to cure the insomnia with every type of pill possible, countless doctors to no

avail, alternative therapies, hypnosis, insomnia specialists, acupuncture,

Chinese medicines, NLP (neuro linguistic programming), meditation, proper

nutrition, natural remedies, and finally checking herself into a 30 day treatment

center and ultimately a psychiatric unit to avoid suicide.

When Donna Kay finally let go of what was not working and owned her True

Worthy Identity she had a breakthrough revelation and awakening to having

more Gratitude and Love for everything in her life unconditionally, which gave

her a spontaneous and natural continual healing when all other attempts failed.

Donna Kay has been redeemed, revived, and completely delivered in every way

possible, living the life of her dreams today! Her biggest crisis has truly become

her biggest blessing.

Her mission and purpose for living is to inspire others, through music and

message, to make Love become real in their lives and one way is to experience

the, simple but yet profound, healing power of Gratitude. She gives insightful

and enlightened wisdom on how Gratitude and Love can deliver us from the

simplest to the most seemingly impossible circumstances, once we get our

perspective into a state of Gratitude. It is our Gratitude that positions us to

receive all Healing, Love and Joy that we desire.

Donna Kay is an authentic, passionate, engaging, motivational, inspiring, and

dynamic singer, speaker, and life coach. She has been blessed with many gifts,

abilities, and talents to reach a multitude of people at any age....from youth to

adults. Donna Kay reaches the masses because she has the ability to connect

on so many different levels. Any event that she participates in will be enriched,

leaving others encouraged, awakened, and inspired to a new level of thinking

and living!

CALLING LEVI

Calling Levi consists of two married couples, Mark and Tammy Lashey and Rob and Stephanie Leight. Tammy and Stephanie are sisters who met Mark and Rob while attending college at Liberty University. Following graduation, the four joined the mission organization, World Help, based in Forest, VA. They sang with MISSION for four years. Rob and Stephanie then spent one year with the Children of the World orphan choir sponsored by World Help. Being involved with this extraordinary ministry gave each of them a deeper desire to reach the lost and point them to Jesus, right here and around the world. The four finished their time at World Help and relocated to Delaware. In July 2002, they set things in motion for their faith, family ministry, Calling Levi.

Up-Bringing

Born in Connecticut and raised in a family of 10 siblings, Raquel Fé comes from a

musically inclined family. Her father, born in Panama, is a well-known bassist in

the Latin community. He toured with Arsenio Rodriguez, the founder of Mambo,

and performed with some of today’s most popular Latin musicians, such as Celia

Cruz, Candido, Machito, and Tito Puente. Raquel Fé grew up listening to Latin

music and has always had an appreciation for it. When it comes to song-writing,

however, the popular American styles became her forte. She worked with two of

her brothers as a vocalist before and during adolescence, which is how she

gained experience as a recording artist. As time went on, she recorded with

artists and entities around the globe.

Raquel Fé is a talented Performing Artist based out of

New Jersey. She wears many hats in the recording

studio. From singing and songwriting to producing and

audio engineering, Raquel Fé can do it all. As a

vocalist, Raquel Fé specializes in Inspirational R&B

and Pop with Gospel influences. Her vocal style is

sultry and powerfully emotional, piercing the heart of

the listener. She sings in English and Spanish, and,

believe, it or not, can rap. As a songwriter, her sounds

may contain Hip Hop, Drum & Bass, and Dance

influences.

Discography

At age 16, Raquel Fé wrote a song about the arrival of Y2K and it was used, exclusively, by

Western Union Corporate around the globe as they prepared for the potential threats of the end of

the millennium. Since then, she has recorded vocals for artists, such as, Related Rhymes, has

been featured in the popular music software called FL Studio and has recorded vocals for a

commercial sample CD called Sample Fusion. A brother of Raquel Fé, Josue Joseph, has produced

several popular documentary films about the foundation of Latin music, featuring the world’s most

elite dancers and musicians. Raquel Fé has co-produced the soundtracks for each film and

recorded the hit song, “Vale Mas”. Visit www.laepocafilm.com for more info. Her father produced

a Classical album in 2002, in which Raquel Fé was featured as a lead vocalist.

Visit www.orquestaalfonso.com for more info. A song that she wrote and produced with her brother,

Jordan Joseph on guitar, called “Rest Child” made it to the radio in 2011 and was ranked Top 3 by

Industry Experts at the 2011 Indie Ignite Conference in Nashville. This song is on her first

Contemporary Christian album, titled “We Live By Faith”, which has just been released. It has an R&B

style with Hip Hop and Dance influences. She wrote the music and lyrics, sang the songs, recorded

the tracks, mixed and mastered them. She had the help of her brother, Jordan Joseph on guitar and

teamed up with her brother, Othoniel Joseph, who co-produced the song “The Cycle”.

Performances

Performing is in her nature. Raquel Fé has held

concerts throughout the east coast. She sang

for the Secretary of the Army at the Pentagon in

Washington DC and continues to sing for other

government functions and churches. As an

adolescent, she sang in school talent shows,

weddings, funerals, and had many solo

performances in all of her school chorus

productions. She was also selected by the high

school band director to sing at the final band

performance of the year (which merited a

standing ovation). She was given the distinct

honor of singing the national anthem a cappella

at High School athletic events.

passionate about all aspects of improvement and

success within the communities that we serve!

In the 21st century it is more challenging than ever to

keep the attention of our youth especially when

The theme for each day is relayed through the motivational messages on the DVD and then again in the workbook.

The Keep It Moving program can be instituted in any class, educational setting, facility or even at home. Contact Lend A

Hand Family to get your youth active and motivated toward good health and success!

Hip Hop is a musical genre that has become internationally favored. The reality is that although hip hop is a form of self expression and freedom of speech, much of the music is full of violence, glorification of drugs, sexism and materialistic lyrics. Sadly, this music is brainwashing many of our youth in a negative way. Lend A Hand Family is spearheading a "NEW" movement called Healthy Hip Hop. Music is the universal language that unites people. We open the ears with music, while opening the mind with knowledge. We create songs covering a wide spectrum of topics with tight beats and positive lyrics. The purpose of this music is to keep our youth moving their bodies in order to stay in shape and mentally stimulated for success!

“Listen & Learn Volume 1” Lend A Hand Family's first music cd, "Listen & Learn " Volume 1 is for ages 4-12. Through the popular beat of hip hop, the music automatically initiates dance and physical activity. Healthy Hip Hop helps our youth understand the importance of hard work, creativity through words and rhyming, realizing greater potential in oneself, attention to food choices and consumption, and much more. “Back 2 School” The "Back to School" CD motivates in social areas that affect our older children as well as promotes tactics for success. This monumental album for teens covers many important topics:

“Say No to Drugs”

“No Bullying” “Think Big Think Positive”

“Take Your Time” “Peer Pressure”

“Getting Ready for College”

THIS IS A MOVEMENT! LET’S GO!

MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

Difference Makers

A Look at Maraion A. Douglas, CEO of Moma’s House

MOMA'S house is a confidential Safe House in Laveen, AZ for women without

custodial children who are victims of domestic violence or human sex

trafficking. It is a place where women can “close one door and open another."

Our vision is a world without domestic violence and human trafficking.

About Our Organization

We work with women who are committed to transforming their lives while in

recovery from domestic violence and human sex trafficking. Each individual

has her own room and a safe, supportive environment in which she can

complete our Life and Career Skills and Support programs. We aim to achieve

status as a foremost authority in the treatment of survivors of domestic

violence and sex trafficking. MOMA’s house promotes the growth of its

programs while actively reducing the demand for our services through

remedial education. We are leading the charge to eliminate the conditions

which foster the demoralization of human beings through intimidation and

violence by becoming advocates for strong laws; local, national and

international.

Our Mission is to transform female survivors of abuse into self-sufficient,

independent women in a Safe House environment that promotes healing and

wholeness. MOMA's house is grounded in a set of values and organizational

beliefs that provide a foundation for all our programmatic activities. We strive

to embody and model these values within our organization. We are committed

to serving the needs of the community and the residents of MOMA's house.

Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to our work, to each other, and to our

clients. MOMA's house recognizes that we are using extremely limited

resources to combat a large-scale problem. To minimize this obstacle, we strive

to achieve the most impact given our available resources. Our programs are

constantly refined to ensure we stay focused on our mission. Our organization

uses empowerment to identify and recognize the strides our residents take

toward each step through our programs. We provide the tools necessary for

our clients and our volunteers to maximize the effectiveness of our

organization and fully recognize their efforts. As an organization addressing

the problem of violence against women, we believe in practicing non-violence

and respect towards each other. We fully understand the complications

associated with domestic violence and human trafficking and will always

maintain an environment of respect.

I saw it as a little girl, I saw it as a teenager and I experienced it as a woman. What was it? It

was Domestic Violence and I promised that if God let me live through it that I would never

travel that road again. So here we are today, I am an advocate for no more abuse against

women! As MOMA’s house celebrates our Five Years of Faith, I would like to share this part

of my Journey with you: Year one, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do but I knew that I

was going to do something. I knocked on many doors only to have most of them shut. I felt

that I was literally lost in the Desert but I was determined to plant the seed.

Year two, I found my purpose! “I am going to open a facility to help women who have been

victims of Domestic Violence” and it will be a transitional home for them after they have left

their abusive relationship and spent 30 days in a Shelter. No money, just a plan and a lot of

Faith. Doors began to open, people starting coming from far and near (Angels along the

Way). Year three, donations and volunteers were plentiful and the doors of MOMA’s

house, a transitional facility was open! I am finally making a difference in a young woman’s

life! I get a knock at the door and I am introduced to Sex Trafficking, not sure of what that is

but it is abuse against women. I accepted that challenge as well and open the doors for those

victims.

Year four, MOMA’s house is now a Safe House and we are still holding on to faith because

by now surely we would have received some major funding. Not so, but thank you to all the

Donors, Interns, Board /Team members and Volunteers because of you, the Dream is now a

Reality. We were able to celebrate the women who completed the program with our first

Open Door Awards Fundraiser.

Year five, I now understand, while I am trying to make a difference in a young woman’s life,

I must be the difference and I must create difference. We have now provided services to 32

women with at 70% completion rate. Holding on to Faith and looking at the Footprints in

Sand, I am confident that MOMA’s house is reaching heights that no one could ever imagine.

While we may not be the tallest tree in the Forest, we are deeply rooted!

As the journey continues, I am asking for your continued support and prayers that MOMA’s

house will exceed all expectations, receive the much needed funding, open doors in cities

and states across the Nation and Internationally. We are striving to reach our vision which is

a world without domestic violence/human trafficking but until we do, it is going to take each

and every one of us to create the difference in order to make a difference.

Many Blessings,

Maraion

"God has so clearly placed it on my heart to

write and share this music with the world

around me. He gave His very best for me so

I feel compelled to give my best for Him.

Craig Whittaker is a Christian songwriter and minister,

with songs that will deeply affect you, and move you to

want to be closer to our God.

Growing up on a farm in the small community of White Gate, Virginia, Craig witnessed the awesome creation and daily miracles of God. Craig recalls, "I was so blessed to be raised by wonderful parents and family, an incredible church family and community, but even being surrounded by God's incredible creation, I didn't truly know Him. I believed in the existence of God and that Jesus was His son, but it wasn't until attending a play in nearby Roanoke, Virginia entitled "Children of Eden" that I felt the overwhelming touch of the Holy Spirit. That day changed my life forever! I began to realize that the all powerful creator of the universe actually loved me and longed for my love in return! I began to feel His presence and desired to get as close to Him as possible. Church, Bible study, prayer all became a priority and I can undoubtedly say that He has never once failed me." Music and singing have always been a part of Craig's life. Being part of the Giles High Symphonic Chorale and playing and performing at various functions while a student at Virginia Tech served as the ground work for what has now become a passion. "After accepting Jesus into my life, it just made sense that the sounds of my heart should reflect Him as well." Craig has been performing over the last dozen years as part of The Mount Zion Quartet, singing baritone for this traditional, hymn, and accapella influenced group. Craig's songwriting began after a February 2004 concert appearance by Casting Crowns in nearby Pulaski, Virginia. The messages contained in their music was something Craig recognized was in his heart as well. "I could feel so many of my own thoughts flowing through worship during

the show, but He was also asking for more from me, He wanted to HEAR my words, my thoughts, my testimony! I have come to realize that my desire to glorify Him in song could not have occurred if He hadn't instilled in me a love of music, the ability to learn the acoustic guitar in college, and the fact that I have been singing most of my life, all have been part of a great plan that God has for me." It was those convictions that ultimately led Craig to Creative Soul Records and producer Eric Copeland in Nashville to produce his debut Contemporary Christian CD "Common Ground". Eleven original songs of God's grace and mercy that will leave listeners with a renewed sense of hope and of God's love for us all.

A look at Koko Conley, The Entertainer!

Page 21: MACKIE Magazine

20

Koko Conley has been an Entertainer for nearly 30 years!

Koko Conley has been an Entertainer for nearly 30 years and Charles "Doc" Moore

has been performing with and accompanying Ms Conley since 1987! They easily

entertain as a "Duo", and perform a vast number of genre's. They also perform many

of their own original songs. Koko Conley likes to sing it all! She enjoys singing

R&B/Soul/Funk/Blues/Smooth Jazz/Pop/Country, Gospel and much more! During

their shows, Doc plays several keyboards, a bass synthesizer, and a "mini" Grand

Piano. They're quite a full sound for a Duo! With Koko Conley's deep soulful vocals

and Doc Moore's playing abilities, they actually sound more like a 4 piece band!

Doc also does background vocals. For many years, Koko and "Doc" Moore

entertained many audiences ( just as a "Duo" ) in the Tampa Bay area of Saint

Petersburg, Florida, Las Vegas Nevada, in the Kansas City Mo. area, Lake Tahoe,

California, Boston Mass, and in the West Hamptons of New York City and beyond!

They were well accepted and often made returns by popular demand.

A bit more about Koko Conley…Prior to teaming up with "Doc" Moore, Koko Conley

worked only as a backup vocalist, until she became a lead vocalist with the ( then )

group called, "The Rahni Harris Trio" an R&B/ Gospel singing act, out of Hartford Conn.

from 1976-1978. Koko performed with Rahni Harris ( better known today as RAHNI

SONG). Ms. Conley performed with Mr. Harris in Hartford Ct., Rhode Island and New

York, and often performed the hit song "Syncopated Love" written by Mr. Rahni Harris.

Soon afterward, she recorded a contemporary Christian song, co-written by herself

and Rahni Song, titled " I've Got A Fantastic High " it was never released. Their works

received great applause and got extended air play on Hartford's radio station WKND

FM. In 1978 the group soon parted ways and Koko Conley moved on.

A bit more about Doc Moore…In 1976, Doc ( Charles ) Moore opened for "LIONEL

RICHIE and THE COMMODORES" at which time, the world famous group had the #1

hit song titled, "Just To Be Close Too You"!

LORI

HARRIS

At age ten, Lori Harris was determined to become the next Amy Grant. She began traveling around local churches, singing Amy-covers and accompanying herself surprisingly well, despite the fact that you could barely see her behind the baby grand, and she had awful stage fright. Life happened, and later training occurred in blues clubs and country bars. Lori’s influences changed into Prince, Sting, Aretha Franklin, Wynonna Judd, BonnieRaitt...especially Bonnie Raitt. Lori leaned into the blues during her time at university, and while pursuing a songwriting degree, Lori studied the classic singer/songwriters. She forced out stage fright by sitting in with local players at open mic nights, fronting jazz groups and showcasing with country bands across the Midwest. Now a bride and mom of four, Lori has returned to church. For over a decade, she’s been leading hundreds in contemporary worship regularly, bringing an earthly soul into messages of hope that don’t disappoint. These latest influences elevate her writing more than ever. “I write what I believe so I can share the wealth. But seeing life through the lens of those country fairs has shaped the way I phrase things. I write music for all kinds of people, wherever they are. I want them to be moved, then to listen and be inspired. I’ve done my job when those walking by are drawn in, saying, ”What is that? I want to be a part of that.” Audiences enjoy Lori’s intelligent, candid style that delves into the “more” of life. With the 2007 release of a 5-song, self-titled EP, and her 2008 release of A

Different Kind, she’s blessed many friends. In 2012, she released Lift*ed, a

collection of songs meant to inspire hope. Lori’s well on her way to doing what she

decided to do when she was ten!

B ON THE

L KOUT FOR MADALYN MCHUGH

Madalyn McHugh is a small town girl with a life-size passion for singing and sharing her message with young people.

What message? You don’t have to compromise your beliefs or who you are in order to be “OK”, or be accepted.

Born in the small town of Caro, Michigan (population: 5,000), Madalyn has lived the classic teen life, growing up in a

large family, graduating in 2012 from Caro High School as Homecoming Queen, and getting lots of support from family

and friends. But despite such a blessed life, Madalyn is uncompromising in the choices she makes and the values she

holds. Her firm stance, and her non-judgmental attitude towards others has earned the respect of teachers, peers and

people in the local community. She is a sought after talent for churches, special events, and benefits.

She was raised in a very musical family. Her brother is an accomplished songwriter/drummer and recording artist. Her

dad plays guitar and has written his own CD of original contemporary Christian songs. Her younger sister wrote the

words and music for the title track, “Stepping Stone”, and her older sister showed her little sister Maddie what it means to

sing with passion and power.

Madalyn has a big voice and a unique style that captivates her audience and leaves them wanting more. Since August

2011, Madalyn has been traveling back and forth to Nashville with her family where she just recorded her first full album

release with Creative Soul Records producer, Eric Copeland. All the songs on the CD, due for release in the summer of

2012, resound with a message of hope and encouragement.

On hearing his song recorded for the first time, singer/songwriter Cory Edwards, author of one of the songs on Madalyn’s

CD said, “Wow! I love it. She really sold it….she made me tear up”! After listening to several tracks Christian recording

artist Paul White said, “She sounds wonderful! What a mature sound…” for such a young artist.

Madalyn loves to perform and she loves to share the things that encourage her and bless her in her Spiritual life. Her

mission is to communicate to young, "Generation-Y" Christians that you don’t have to compromise your values, even

when it feels uncomfortable, or when the peer pressure mounts. She sums it up this way: “I know who I am… my identity

is in the Lord. I'm not sure if I’d know who I am if it wasn’t for Him”.

Madalyn has a lot of empathy with teens struggling with peer pressure to compromise their values. She will be spending

the next few years traveling her state and beyond to be an encouragement to young people no matter where they stand

with their faith. She wants to lift up, and minister to, the Church, and reach out to those who harbor serious doubts about

their faith, or who feel hurt and angry about the pain they have experienced. Madalyn is the classic small town girl, with a

powerful and poignant message for Christians: No Compromise!

Jason Ellsworth Band

"I WILL WALK ON THE WATER IF YOU WILL CALL OUT TO ME."

Born outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jason’s earliest memories include his father’s southern gospel quartet, their tour bus and singing with them before crowds of people. By the age of 17 he had started his own band, performing songs he had written. While attending college Jason experienced a new reality of God’s transcendence during times of corporate worship. That lifestyle of intimacy with the Divine became his passion. After touring the United States, playing guitar and singing harmony for other worship leaders, in 1997 Jason made his home in Kansas City. Doors started to open and he began traveling, leading worship for churches, conferences, camps and retreats. But, Jason wasn’t playing to the crowds. He was just as energized worshipping alone in the presence of the Lord. In the mean time, Jason found his place in a local church as a youth pastor. For five years Jason traveled in the United States and Europe as a worship leader, while he discipled a group of teenagers at home in Kansas City. During that season of his life, Jason also found time to participate in the birthing stages of the International House of Prayer, led by Mike Bickle. Each morning Jason would join a full band in worship to complete the 24/7 prayer meeting.

Page 25: MACKIE Magazine

24

To learn more about the Jason Ellsworth Band visit…Jason Ellsworth Band

After releasing his first live worship recording, Lovesick (2003), Jason joined the staff of YouthFront, an internationally recognized youth ministry organization and leader in the emerging church. Jason brought a fresh element to YouthFront, leading people into God’s presence through powerful worship experiences. In May of 2004, Encounter, Jason’s second worship project was released. Now the Jason Ellsworth Band’s latest CD Listening? invites us all to come closer to the Father in worship. Today Jason Ellsworth’s songs give language to passionate believers, but Jason offers the church more than anthems. He is a catalyst, redefining worship as he brings people into deeper intimacy with Jesus through his spontaneous and prophetic leading. Due to the depth of his teaching and his ability to communicate, Jason is also a dynamic speaker for conferences and retreats. In addition, Jason gives leadership to One Voice Ministries International, helping other artists see their visions for ministry fulfilled. Jason Ellsworth has led worship with organizations like Billy Graham Crusades and Promise Keepers and alongside artists such as Delirious? and Jami Smith. Each time he takes the stage Jason continues to pray that the congregations will leave talking about the living and intimate God they met with rather than the worship leader, the band, the songs or the speaker. Jason fosters a unique worship experience where simple broken humans receive the embrace that the loving Father is offering.

BETH CHAMPION MASON

Beth Champion Mason’s musical journey has been a long and

winding one. Dreaming of being a professional musician since she

was a child, Beth was sidetracked from her goals during her teen

years, becoming ensnared in a life of alcohol and drugs. God

miraculously opened Beth’s eyes and gave her a second chance.

After graduating college, Beth felt the call of God to the music

ministry. Accepting a music ministry position within her church,

she started writing songs again and began sharing them with her

church. A strong demand for recordings led her to record "All I

Have" in 2002.

On the heels of her successful independent debut,

singer/songwriter Beth Champion Mason recently released her

sophomore effort "Postcards." Beth has now sold thousands of

CDs, as well as gaining radio attention across the country with her

single "Lavish Love." Beth performs up and down the East Coast

and beyond, including concerts, festival events, leading worship,

coffeehouse concerts, and numerous other events. She has toured

over 30 states as part of the "Road to Recovery Tour" with her

partner artist, Leah Martensen.www.roadtorecoverytour.com And

in October 2010, she released her third full-legth album, "Just a

Glimpse," which combines storytelling songs and worship songs.

Although she hears comparisons to Jennifer Knapp and Sarah

McLachlan, for Beth, it's not about style—it's about ministry. The

accolades for her debut album, the national distribution and

airplay of her second CD—these pale in comparison to nearly 1000

people coming to Christ after her testimony aired on "The 700

Club." Beth uses pop-rock sensibilities along with her powerful

testimony to minister life and hope—and deliver a life-changing

message about the personal love of God.

Life is just an allotment of time given to us by God to perform a specific duty while here on earth.

Death lasts longer.

What we get in return is what we put forth firstly.
